Hey guys . How long do we have to change the spark plugs?

I just rode my bike. Throttle response like quite poor. Need to throttle a bit more den usual. Is it due to the dirty sprak plug?

Also i followed the mech way. I throttle max on neutral. saw some black smoke. What does it mean? I also not sure why they do it for. But i guess the black smoke means something. Guys anyone can advise me on this before i go CKa and service a bit.

Btw another qn. What exactly is piston jam. What are the symptoms? My fren once told me u will hear a pop sound.

if you see white smoke from ur exhaust :faint: :faint: even worse... as per stsoh, maybe the carb too rich, (usually will also be slightly high FC as i wat i have experience).

come to think of it........

plastic chain cover on the engine side n exhaust flange cracked too.

guess previous vibrations were too great.

now after i did my self-tuning, lesser vib.

:cheeky:

Haiz.. found the source of my ringing sound liao..

The X5 I bought comes with a fairing/cover at the bottom. It is secured to the body with 4 brackets (2 on each side). As we all have come to know, the Roadwin have the tendency to vibrate excessively at about 4-5k rpm. This in turn cause the brackets to vibrate and hit the body frame thus causing the ringing sound. I have since removed the bottom fairing/cover and have had a peaceful ride since.

A way for those who still wishes to use the bottom fairing/cover (without the sound) is to attach a rubber or something to act as cushion between the bike body frame and the brackets. Double side tape with foam should suffice as well.

Hope it works for you guys.. For me, I'm done with the fairing..

Piston jam is when the piston is unable to move through the combustion cycle hence failing to provide any power to the transmission, thereby "locking the rear wheel". As for the pop sound, i never heard it when i experienced it but you can hear the engine suddenly die as how you would hear it when you ride till your tank reaches full empty

Hence it is ESSENTIAL TO CLUTCH IN when this happens to disengage the gears to the rear wheel. You will feel as though you did an ebrake when your piston jams causing your bike to drift or skid depending on how fast you were travelling when this happens. My piston jammed when i was riding my old bikes (RXK, Mito and Vespa)...worse being the vespa as you can skid for quite a distance when the piston jams at 80 kph (maybe due to the small wheel). I remember skidding for @ least 30-40 meters from the middle lane to the left lane on the ECP b4 my reflexes kicked in.

Piston jams usually occur in 2ers whereby insufficient 2T causes high heat & friction to jam the piston against the engine wall. If a 4er has a piston jam, it usually means that the piston rings are worn out or the engine block has been damaged.

Oh ya, always keep the bike straight and uprite when it happens. Try taking up defensive riding @ the centres to learn to maneuvere the bike in such situations. Trust me, It helps when such as occasion happens :goodluck:

Ok guys... im not riding a roadwin but i just wanna find out how far can this bike go on a full tank? And which petrol? And to wat i know the stock bike can only run a max of 100km/hr is it? Wat mods can be made to make it go faster? Say cruising at 110km/h maybe?

You can also find a black rw outfitted with a 'polished' moriwaki exhaust at the Bedok North St 3 carpark (the one nearer to the ATM). Very nice  FX plate one

The roadwin I saw at KB CKA was a different Moriwaki.. The pipe was somewhat oval in shape in state of circle.. Is the oval a different model? Its also not rainbow colored..

Nice headlights...wonder if cka sells them?

Btw the reason why the moriwaki exhaust you saw is not rainbow colored is bcoz cka help to polish out the rainbow bits for those who ask for the exhaust. Also, the pipe is ovular in shape as you mentioned

Remember it is still not street legal, therefore if you are stopped by ROV...can say goodbye to pipe loh and $500 out your pockets. TP dun really give a damn as their main juradstiction is road violations not vehicle modifications.

TP and ROV bikes can be differentiated by the number plates....TP & ROV
