Hey thanks for the prompt replies guys...

The problem is I do service my bike at CKA HQ lor... and I dunno what the mechanic's name is actually but he keeps saying its normal for the rear brake to get clogged by dirt particles so not smooth when u spin it on mainstand... which I find very suspect as my old GN never gives me this problem... Even when I push my RW there is a vibration felt at the rear brake and it feels jammed although there is no burning smell after I ride it....

My bike is stock, FY plate... so I guess I should change the sprockets to 15/42 to increase overall cruise speed rite? I don't really need the pickup coz I basically use the bike for transport but I do want a faster cruise speed and smoother ride on the eways... So it costs $20 rite? Think I'll get it done then next time I do an oil change... oh and is it really worth spending on fully synthetic coz I've been using semi all this while and after reading the prev posts u guys got me thinking of converting to full... My bike has only hit a 14000km mileage only anyways...

P.S. Where to change to foam grips? The HQ don't carry any and they say that if the foam get wets it gets damaged (sticky) after getting dried again and stinks afterwards... how ah???

zoo, actually why would you say roadwin as cagiva wanna be? cos personally, i went to look at the new planet and new x5 roadwin, i realise, except the head of the bike and how the exhaust is linked to the engine, roadwin does have a much better body shape compared to cag and they do not look so similar after all... hehe.... just personal preference la.

Ya la brader....Cagiva Planet more like a Ducati Monster...came out also during the time Monster reigned supreme.

Roadwin more towards S4.

No wonder cka pasted the lame Super 4V sticker which had to be painstakingly peeled off...ehekz

:giddy:

Btw...which mech u give to? Roy wont say such things one la...my rear wheel also got the creaking sound after i went to change my rear brake pads bout 02 weeks ago...juz din bother to tell Roy...maybe the next oil change...

If you wan cruise speed....change to 15/40...very smooth cruise at the expense of pick up....but very smooth.

Hey regarding the sound at the back. u try rotating the wheel on main stand den shift the brake caliper ( not sure what its called) the clip holding the pads. Coz the last time my sound due to the vibration of the brakes and the disc. After i adjusted it a bit the sound goes off. So i told roy and he help me did some adjustments. If u dun smell the burning smell, it shouldnt be it. To convince yourself whether its jam, pour some water on your brake disc. Your will see the thing cooking cause of the heat from the friction.

Worst case scenario. your brake jams on highway which was what happened to me. Stop and wait for the brakes to cool down/pour water to cool it down. Den after 10 mins or so the disc jam will release after it contracts and u can proceed back slowly. It might jam again so repeat the procedure. Alternatively u can ask someone to tow. But of course try not to get into this kind of situation coz its v dangerous. So check for the signs.

btw use any engine oil other than castrol. I anti castrol . The gear kicking not smooth and the fuel consumption also quite bad.

Regarding insurance, if u are going to apply using your own name and u are new rider, get mitsui. Its the cheapest.

-can pls go through it with me again... altogether i will roughly spend 7.5k otr right?

-foam grip to minimise vibrations

i don't think the foam grip will minimise much vibrations. For own comfort.

Price wise really depends on your bargaining skills.

For those that are intending to get this bike first hand,

Be super sure that u want this bike before u buy it first hand. Because after u buy it and ride for a while, it might not suit your style. 100 + km/h might not be enough for u after a while. U might not be able to take the vibrations. U might not like it when u cant beat other bikes at traffic lights or cars start tailgating u or flashing at u to make way. Lastly, we all know the resale value is low so u might not get a good price if u regret and want to change.

So moral of the story is go try the roadwin and other bikes to see which one suits u best. Dont buy and regret. U will end up losing quite a bit of money.

This is more suitable for ppl looking normal transporting with a cool outlook and economical usage. Just my 2 cents worth.

Of course i will gladly welcome more rw riders to the community. Its good to see more ppl riding rw.

This is a transport bike...think of it like a Wave....u dun expect a wave to speed do you?? :sian: But instead of getting a small wave that sways here and there when you ride in the eways , u get a stable bike that corners great too and that even if u fit a box behind or on the sides, the bike will still look damn chio.

run out of steam means?

1)Bike lose speed on way up thus have to drop gear? or

2)Bike can't go up hill at all? or

3)Something else...

Maybe 1 day can rope me in on your trips across border.. craving for a little adventure..
