For forum wise sometimes u can get gd deal, pay in full or arrange yr loan fro Co. Bike shop is easy as everything settle for u but hve to pay bk by instalment. Getting bike fro shop 1st yr hve to get ins fro them & after that 'can' get it yrself.

My advise is many Co offer diff ins but when cmes to accident who is the best to claim & settle for u?

Ialways trust NTUC/Mitsui (expensive) as they service is gd, nw NTUC oso offer ins by instalment which i'm enjoying. If you taking NTUC 3 party I think will be less than $450 depending yr NCB.

Try to look 4 yr bike @ BP as their price is offer v low, FT - FV $5K-$6.5K machine price but hve to inspect carefully 4 2nd hand bike no matter which bike shop u go.

Bike problems or need solution pls call/sms 98631534 boon, willing to give advise base on what I know.

be careful of some bike shops cos sometimes they tell u the OTR price is actually not the full price. they will say need some more $$ for agreement fees or dunno wat fees...

hi bro and sis, just want to check with u guys something....i bought my 1st hand bike with BIKE PRODUCTION under hire purchase, and during my first yr of insurance is under AXA, which is wad the bike shop do for me. and is a third party fire & theft.

soon my insurance is going to expire (no claim was made during the first yr), so i went down to bike production and ask for the 2nd yr premium charge, the boss told me i got to pay $1000++ for 1st party, so i ask him i want to take only 3rd party fire & theft can anot, and the reply is that i must take up 1st party due to the bike is still under hire purchase.

so my question is why my first yr can insure with 3rd party fire & theft and now the 2nd yr cannot....?? is it a must?, due to the bike is still under hire purchase....??

i called up NTUC after that and their premium for 3rd party fire & theft for my age is only $500++ so i was thinking maybe i one time finish all the installment left, and switch to NTUC...wad do u guys think....??

can anyone help me with this issue....!!!

thanks alot....!!!

Not say a must la.. Its definitely stated in the contract u sign when u buy ur bike... U hav to get their insurance becoz its usually under the terms n conditions for hire-purchase... Basically they onli recommend insurance which gives them higher commission...

I tink after the 1st 2 years, after dat, u can find ur own insurance company...

if ur insurance or road tax expires, u can do it urself wat. the insurance letter will send to u n not the bike shop. but i'm not sure whether u can switch to NTUC cos ur existing is AXA. u may need the original logcard to change. that i'm not very sure.

or simply extend ur insurance at AXA lor. rate will b oso ard 500+ like that.

try not to go thru the shop cos they may take out their chopper...

I renew my own insurance after the 1st year at NTUC. NTUC informed me that I can proceed to buy a 3rd party insurance with them provided that the bike shop did not object. Until now no problem. Bike shop also never ask me if I have renewed my insurance n road tax until now.

i paid $1k for 1st party insurance when i bought my bike first hand. my insurance expired juz this month and i called back to my bike shop to ask if i could switch to TPFT or 3rd party. surprisingly they refused to let me downgrade as im also on hire-purchase....almost $800 for 1st party for my 2nd year! wad i did was i went to ntuc and bought myself third party fire and theft (2nd party) which is oni $500+....i tink can change la... unless ur bike shop call u up or u receive lawyer letter nia lo.... hahaha :goodluck:

Read through ur hire purchase agreement.

See if there is any clause stating:

1) U must get 1st party insurance during hire purchase period

2) U have to renew insurance through bikeshop

If there is not any, then dun care about BP. Juz go straight to insurance company.

u can renew yr insurance thru NTUC simply by calling them...

i also switch from axa to ntuc (on my own), hire purchase here.

btw, ask yr bike shop owner to show you black and white that u must renew insurance thru them, else just renew on your own.

seems like tt ah swee guy is out to make money on the expense of others' suffering. if its your bike, why cant you choose what to do with the insurance. next year he probably tells you to wear red underwear for a year. hire purchase what. cockster.

btw, it is NOT a must to get comprehensive (first party) insurance coverage.

Third party fire & theft (second party) will do..., more so when yr first year is already second party.

tell told me that my bike is under installment so must take 1st party leh...

he ask me go read the agreement form...but i dun really under stand wadthe form is saying... anyone out here bought a 1st hand bike with bike production under hire purchase...??

Posted

Den wad u can do now is to make a trip down to the shop and ask him to highlight the sentence on the agreement form u signed, which states dat u hav to purchase 1st party insurance... If he's unable to do dat, jux heck care him n get ur own insurance.

Remember: As long as u nv sign anytin which states anytin, u r nt obliged to do wad he ask u to.
