IC retained when buying new bike

Hi all,

 

Is it a common practice for the shop to hold your IC for like 1 day to do what ever they need to do ?

 

Im feeling quite auspicious..

 

Any advice greatly appreciated

If you are feeling auspicious, then quickly buy 4D. Sure strike one. If you are feeling suspicious, don't be. Standard practice for bikeshops to hold your IC for a few days when you just bought a bike...

Yup I think its standard practice.... Just make sure they give you black and white to prove that they are holding on to your IC.

ur IC is for LTA to verify the details while doing the transfer or registration.

they will take ur ic and use it to borrow money from loan sharks! argh!!

its a procedure lah. they need ur IC so dat they can activate for u a PIN no when transferring ur name to the bike..

Just make sure you have docs from them stating your IC is currently with them.

usually i tink they will return u ur IC but they will just photocopy a copy or ur IC and licence
