Just to share, I was reading a book on bikes performance.. when I realise that most aftermarket exhaust made

for new bikes fulfils more aesthetic and sound purposes than pure performance (unless properly tuned)

 

This is bcoz modern bikes are heavily engineered with their OEM exhaust to produce the optimum performance for their bikes.. The performance of aftermarket pipes increases significantly with older models as the bike's scruffy oem parts aren't engineered as well as those in modern days..

 

In addition, an aftermarket exhaust would sometimes create flat zones in the bike's powerband and each individual after market pipe is specifically tailored for different purposes in that sense.. So for general street riding, the best exhaust recommended for the bike is still the OEM exhaust..
