oh what time were u there? i was there for like 10mins only! hahaha walked around the showroom, checked out the bikes.. looked for nice 2nd hand ones. there were none that caught my attention. walked outside past all the bikes and quickly rushed back to the car across the road hoping that i've not been summoned!

sunhogs is at turf city. in the automobile mart or some place la. u can derive from the name that they sell cars. im not really sure which lot the shop is in... might be C5 or something.. but it's the last shop under the shelter so u can see it from the outside.

I was there since 4.45 pm. I stayed until the lucky draw. My bike was parked all the way to the end of the Harley carpark. At that time, I think I was outside, so I may not have seen you.

Sunhogs is at Turf City? Crap! I didn't know that! That's close to my home. Thanks Shiraz.

Personal loan application for bikes are easily available within 2-3 working days with Hitachi.

All you need is to download the application form, fill it up and fax it in together with a copy of your IC and Payslip.

And within the next few days, you will be rumbling down the road with a Harley...

Was reading the website just now. Turns out that for vehicle finance, my annual income have to be $24,000. Sadly my annual income is less than that

You can just pass them your IR8A. Gross annual income of more than 24k (bonus inclusive) could get you through. They might still ask for your payslip tho..

If all else fail, all you need is a gurantor who earns more than 24k/annum, staying at a house which is bought under his/her name and has no bad credit records, I.E. your parents.

A few untold story ... ... ...

- Private application fees $100.

> Forgot to mention this. My bad. And its non-refundable. Its to prevent silly ppl with too much time, who go and apply loans for fun and only to reject it when it is approved. Anyways, they will tell you straight out if you're not elligible for the loan before you pay the money.

- Bikeshop application admin fees ... ???

> If you're buying from a shop, there might be some charges, but this is dependent on the bike shop. You'll never know unless you ask the bike shop.

- If all else fail, gurantor 24k/annum with payslip/IR8A and must at least 1yr in the job.

> Yes, this is true.

- Loaning the sum you required, may decline and settle for less.

> It the value loan amount you give is reasonably matched to the street value of the bike, you should not have a problem. If you're buying from a shop, they might play with the price a little to get you the 'maximum' loan.

- Must be Giro.

> Whats wrong with that? You still got to pay every mth anyhow.

- Approved, do your first payment cash/cheque.

> 1st mth installment must be payed when agreement is signed.

- Once all done, hope previous owner clearance done fast.

> Ok. Once the loan is approved, and you signed the agreement, the log card of the bike, IN YOUR NAME, must be handed over before the check will be issued to the SELLER in their name. If the seller trusts you, transfer of log card can be done before the agreement is signed. If not, do it after the agreement. You must have a valid insurance for the bike before transfer can be done.

- Waiting for your cheque can take quite awhile.

> Check will be issued in the SELLER's name ONE DAY after they have received the photocopy of the bike's log card in the the BUYER's name.

The super good thing here is, you suffers no bullshiit when you sell your bike. They follow MAS laws and you will get your rebate back. :p

> I'm not too sure what is this about. My experience was as follows.

1. Apply for loan.

2. Got a phone call, loan is approved. Call insurance agent to get insurance done.

3. Next day, sign agreement, collect insurance cert, pass cert to seller along with IC to do transfer.

4. Collect the bike.

5. Seller passes photocopy of log card to Hitachi to get check, original copy to me.

Wow... William. How come yours is so simple?

Hitachi Credit is a Credit providing company. I'm guessing with every approved loan, they are making profits through the interest. The higher the loan, the more they make. So then, why shouldnt they loan you the money?

Then there are the cases whereby ppl can't pay, go bankrupt etc etc and that could explain the elligibility standard that they set.

As long as you fit the standard, or have a gurantor that does, they should not have a reason not to loan you the money.

Just my personal opinion.

William, can u tell me in details how to get the loan applicant done up n approved? wat r the documents i need?

Thanks alot. n sorry for the trouble.

Documents needed

- Photocopy of IC

- 2 mths payslip/IR8A/CPF contributions (anything to show you earm more than 24k gross per year.

- Photocopy of logcard of the seller's bike

- SGD100.00 processing fee paid upfront upon application (non-refundable)

Bring all these down to Hitachi Credit @ Hitachi Tower, 16th floor.

Look for Timothy (there are actually 2 person handling bike loans. The other is a lady. Most ppl prefer to apply through Timothy. Efficiency and customer service does pay.)

When you get a call from Hitachi to confirm that your loan is approved, there are 2 possible ways from here.

Route 1 (if the seller trusts you)

- Get insurance.

- Transfer name in log card to your name (need valid insurance coverage for the bike. 3rd Party FIRE & THEFT.)

- Go back to Hitachi with transfer documents (now no more paper log card).

- Sign agreement and had over photocopy of insurance and transfer documents along with 1st month installment.

- Seller will get check in SELLER's name within 1-2 working days.

- I repeat, cheque is not in your name.

Route 2 (if the seller don't trust you)

- Get insurance.

- Go down to Hitachi to sign agreement and pay 1st month installment.

- Transfer name in log card to your name (need valid insurance coverage for the bike. 3rd Party FIRE & THEFT.)

- Go back to Hitachi with transfer documents and had over photocopy of insurance and transfer documents.

(Actually, once you have a valid insurance coverage for the bike, you can start riding it already while either you or the seller is doing the transfer of logcard.)

It all depends on the agreement you have between you and the seller/shop.

Most shops do not allow you to find your own finance and if you insist, the price of the bike will be marked up as they cant earn from your interest.

Do note that Hitachi will only loan you 80% of the price of the bike.

If your bike costs $10,000, they can only loan you $8,000, with $2,000 deposit to the seller.

If your bike "costs" $12,500, they can only loan you $10,000, with $2,500 being the "deposit" to the seller.

Best is to give them a call 1st. The other time I went there, there was no one. The bikes were all covered in canvas.

The next day, I called them before I left and there was no answer.
