harley dealership? 2nd hand u mean??

hmmm... buying from dealership and sunhog definitely is higher than pte owners.. juz like other normal bike shops u c, sure will chop u.. the difference is chop abit or alot.

However, at dealership, the sales executive, daniel(if i m not wrong) has got contacts of those pte owners that wanna sell their bike. So thru him u can buy from pte owner.

But of cos got to give commission to him la. However whether the commission is from the buyer or seller or both, i m not sure.

Anyway its few hundred bucks only i think.

U can always check out http://www.singaporebikes.com

got few sportser sellers there.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks to Harley Davidson Singapore, if not I wont have a chance to test ride the 883R. Really :thumb: for the bike.

They have organised a ride up to Pagoh & with their generosity I was able to take their 883R on the ride. Initially was comtemplating if I could handle the bike as I seldom ride a chopper, worried of the weight, whether its agile, blar..blar...blar.....

To my surprised, its so managable.....! I could get adapted to it quickly and control the throttle easily. Have rode dry & wet roads & the bike runs well on both condition.

Always tot Harley is not suitable for female riders but I was wrong. Strongly recommend the 883 to all the ladies out there. Muz test ride the 883R!

"R Version" has a significance different compare to other sportster. They inherent ceramic coasted black engine, most attachment parts are black and comes with 2-1 pipe. Color code is orange.

You talking the same one ?

2004 model onwards has a rubber mounting for the engine and the clutch control is softer.

Last heard, there are about 12 pieces on th road. Till date not sure ... ... :p

Is a great bike for all purpose. It has a great city riding ability. :thumb:

Yap its the orange colour with black chrome parts, duno which year thou. Really fallen in love with the bike now... hope able to afford one soon:cheeky:

Eeerrrrr.... me female....

Well, have checked the classified but all r not the model I have ridden.....its year 2005 model with only 1 exhaust and black out parts.

There r many type of sportster and with different height, really looking forward to own one. I did have the chance to take the 1200sportster custom but find its abit low and big oil tank. Glad with the bike i pick.

But think guys would prefered heavier and bigger model, find 883R is very suitable for ladies coz its more agile :thumb:

Ya ... we are togather every week. :D

I ridden a ThunderBird before, I still think 900cc ThunderBird is faster even sportster bore is 1200. What sportster need is a complete Screaming 1200cc kits. Higher comp pistons, performance cams and head works togather with ignition module + high revving CDi. Otherwise no chance. :p

In addition with doug fisher engine damper + Baker 06 gearbox ... confirm OK ... ... ... :cheer:

Wah u sure r a insider man~

So i believe u r heading towards tat direction ar??

Gd luck!

make HD riders proud!!!

Size is not my priority. Application and ability is what I looking for. Usually ended up pretty compact. :D

Is quite hard to comeby for 2nd hand unless you go for new. :p

Straight from factory 2-1 pipe is properly only brought into Singapore in 2003, in conjunction with 100th anniversary celebration that Harley roll out a special edition 883R model with a HD seal on the black engine cover.

Sad to say you had just missed one 2005 model sold a few days ago. :giddy: Condition is superd !

Seen more is for older sportsters not the one tat I'm keen in, but even there is i wont be able to afford it at the moment... mayb if i sell off my monster then can consider for another..

Actually the one tat i rode is with the 2 exhaust... duno why i keep thinking its 1....

Been dreaming abt the bike.... since the test ride.....:help:

wah lau, why want to trash my Thunderbird? Ride together better lah

But actually mine isnt a cafe racer although it's custom painted to resemble one.

It's just a retro/classic roadster.

some comparisons:-

883 ('02) TBird ('96) 1200 ('02)

Power 53bhp 70bhp 59bhp

Torque 68 Nm 72Nm 89Nm

Weight 245kg 220kg 235kg

Drive belt chain belt

Gears 4? 5 4?

Top ? 180km/hr ?

Quite difficult to determine which is faster leh. all about the same. give and take
