Is that true, Max? Will better shocks help? Or are you just pulling my leg. I'm not sure what the problem is? Maybe the bike is too big for me.... :faint:

Don Juan: You're not that small size la. And the bike isn't that big. I've seen smaller people on bigger bikes. I'm not much bigger than you either and my bike is so much higher than yours. Can one. Don't sell yourself short or you'll turn out short. hahaha. For goodsake sake, you're riding one of the nicest glides around man. hahaha. All you need to do is ride more. Don't always go work and go home. Every night go for a ride till your tank runs dry :)

If all else fail you can always sell your bike to me. heeeeeee

Either ways, EFI or carb, Harleys will still give you the traditional galloping sound cos of the way the firing pin is situated. Only diff is if it's faster or slower. Other twins are build differently so you won't get the same sound.

Harley tried to trademark the sound before but failed. Oh well, people can still tell it's a harley when you ride past. Most clutch in and blow throttle a bit when you pass a hot chick.

yup, better shocks will give you a firmer ride.

Cant say much about my HD, i changed it to lower the bike, but my fazer is full ohlins for the front and wilbers for the rear, does a better job of sharp corners and stability at high speed than the stock settings.

wanna ride with madness?

Thanks Max, see bonus how lah this year, may consider changing the shocks or change folk oil for the front first to see how things go. Thanks for the tip. :p

Read the link to the HD forum on shocks and fork oil. Apparently the stock front fork oil is 5 wt and the SE is 12 (I think). The 12 is too heavy for normal riding, especially if on a Sporty. So they recommend blending it with the lighter stuff. But its trial and error. Or go with another brand as they have everything in between. But its a B$tch to change it out apparently as the entire fork needs to come off or you have to sipoh it out.

Am picking up my Prog 11" over the holidays and carrying it back (USD$200 from Eastern Performance). My front end (Dyna SGC) purpoises so will consider the fork oil mod after I put on the rear shocks.

Lol.. Lost to the wind  Hmmm, but what if your harley has those big windshields like some electra glide? Can it reach 200kph?

It's not how fast you ride, but how well you ride.

Quite difficult cause it block the wind and its actually quite difficult to control the bike as handle bar will be very heavy....

Hey guys,

I intend to do some DIY spray painting to turn some of my chrome parts to wrinkle black (or matt black). What brand or type of spray paint should I use to create that kinda effect? If possible, do let me know where to get it too! Thanx in advance for all valuable inputs :thumb:

Posted

use hi temp spray will get the matt black effect. dont finished off with lacquer as that will cure and make a glossy finished to the paint job.

G'day Don, For the rear Harley Shocks are adjustable you may want to test with different hardness settings before you spend on changing them out - It worked for my Softail but for my sporty I ended up changing to progressives.

Anybody lnow where I can get some Hi temp resistant tape. I need to wrap some wires passing close to my exhaust at the engine end. Similar to the tape used for heat shielding exhausts could be fine.

Thanks

G'day mate.... thanks for the tip. I feel abit woobly at higher speeds by myself. Strange though, when i have a pillion, the bike actually feels more stable on the straight but of course taking the corners are not as easy as when i'm on it alone.

What have you done on your wife's Sporty so far? Is it still the same as i last saw it? Remembered you wanted to do a different color ya....
