damn sian man.... rain stopped at about 8am this morning, so went ahead to brave the wet road to get to work... bike dirty.... now at 5pm it is still raining!!! i hate to have to wear the raincoat, shoe gets wet, then later need to dry everything, wash bike... haiii.... biker's life

I managed to escape from the morning rain. But still kena when coming home. And it's not those heavy rain (that can wash the dirt off). It's those irritating drizzle which sprays my bike with beautiful mists of sand and dirt! Arghz!

 

I got shoe covers and even backpack cover, so shoes and backpack won't get wet. But that is not the main problem. Main problem is .. bike looks like it has gone off-road. Sian!!! But think of it in another way .. at least we've got HOGs to wash!

after watching how they use hd during the war, especially the terrain they used it on, i am wondering why hd didnt end up as a scrambler manufacturer

If they wanna make scramblers, they have to reduce the weight and size of their engines and remove the chrome

My class 2 is coming up in about 1 month's plus time , and i did some research. Due to my size , hence the harley sportster 883R.

 

I did some search , but can't really seem to find my answers to my specific questions, so hope you guys can bear with me and provide me with some opinions.

 

I know you guys say that harleys are generally friendly to the pockets maintainence wise , but do they usually give problems(due to vibration, etc)?

 

Even if they do (touchwood) , how do i go about ordering spare parts from overseas?

Sounds like a big hassle to me.

 

Another thing is , where can i look for a reasonably good conditioned 883R?

And where would i be able to source a loan for it?

 

Don't get me wrong , I love the looks of the 883r and been looking forward to owning one since the start of my riding days , but I really want to know what I'm getting myself into if i invest into getting one. (Maintainence , spare parts , loan , where to source for a second-hand harley)

 

I'm just an student and if it's really gonna be a big struggle to own one, i would rather wait awhile more and get myself a brand new bike when I'm able to instead of ruining my experience with a made-do bike.

finished your studies, get a proper job before looking at one.

 

maintenace of hd is pretty simple, everything is fine if nothing break down, if it does, it goiing to cost more than repairing a japanese made.
