Thats the oil pressure sensor. Is the bolt tight? Disconnect the sensor (its just a clip) and see if its oily. If so then the socket is faulty. If not check the threading. If its threading, waterproof grease might be a quick fix.

yeah the socket is very oily.

thanks dodo bird. I guess this might be the reason why the red light keeps lighting up every now and then.

Hi dodobird,

Sorry for the confusion. Was referring to your earlier post to reconsider servicing every 6000. So was thinking if just oil and filter change at 6000 and 18000 would cost be reasonable. Or can we skipe the 6000 and 18000 servicing and just service every 12000 as per schedule.

Valve clearance is mandatory. So is belt change. U dun do these 2, then u can be on your toes.

Just like if a mv agusta owner does not service his wheel bearings every 10kkm. It will spoil and be prepared to pay 1.8k for new parts excluding labour.

Oil alone abt just over 3L + oil filter. Pls refer to your owners manual. Unless we are smarter then the engineers that built a ducati, i dun think anyone wants to risk burning a hole in their wallet. I have my own share of changing out parts within the engine. And parts dont come cheap. Eg: timing gears cost $600usd, starter gears $600usd.

Im about to ask the same question too. After the 1st servicing which is at 1000km then jump to 12000km like way too long. I always replaced my eo n o.filter on my ex jepun bike at every 5000km without fail. Bro dodobird?

U guys can do the oil change wif thats wat makes u comfortable. There isnt anything that says u cant. Different oil breaks down at different mil. The engines have been improved thru the yrs to run more efficiently. From 5k to 6k to 12k. But it just boils down to ur personal comfort zone.

Cost for oil change is just 3-4L of oil + oil filter + labour. Depending on where u go, and choice of oil, price range is between 100-200.

Fyi, motul 300v does not last longer then 3-4kkm. Never built for endurance.

Loois motor has a good reputation on both sales n aftersales. They offered me 25k otr for m796. But!

If u buying a brandnew duc, look no further go straight to minerva (they are the only ducati agent in singapore). http://www.ducati.com.sg/price_list.html

I was told, "dont play play" with warranty issue. Anything can happen within 2yrs. and duc parts are not cheap.

Happy shopping! :)

Hi all. We are organizing an Italian Bike gathering event on May 12 2016. We will be heading up to handle bar to end the event . The last event we did in 2006 (for those old timers if u remember) was a major success. So lets get together this time again for the 2012 version. Do msg me at 98556932 (amin) for any enquiries. Or u may add me at facebook where i created an event list for it. ( username: daytime drunkard)

I look forward to all the respectives Italian bike owners participations as this is just a small get together familyday event to network all italian bike riders in SG. Cheers

HEY GUYS,

Do you guys know where i could get 2010 M1100/M1100S 1st hand? Minerva only brings in M1100evo now. I want this M1100(dry-clutch) badly..

Dude, its no longer in production. If minerva cant get it that means ducati warehouse does not have anymore. U might some chance looking for some dealer in uk.

Alternatively, get a m1100evo and install a DP dry clutch conversion kit for the 848. It fits. But prepare to cough out abt 4k for it.

To all noobies to ducati, i strongly urge u to meet up with the more experienced owners, be it from here or from DRG.

Reason being, many do not understand what they are getting themselves into prior to owning a ducati only to realise the long journey ahead when **** hits the roof. Better to be equiped with the proper knowledge then to not at all.

I can confidently say i'm the last of the old boys in this thread but a few have come to realise that i'm not the only 1 with a wealth of knowledge to share.

For those whom would wan to go thru the proper channels, you may also go down to Minerva and sign up to join DOC. Some of our old boys do sit on that committee.
