Its ok espido, i can at least look forward to a drink from you next time.

D.O.C thx for organising tonight's meetup. We discussed in our informal meeting that we should make the second saturday of the month our meetup day. Shall we try this coming 10th Sep. I won't be here but others will be. Is sat a convenient night for most?

When it comes to bikes, I only see red…

Alrighty, noneed to keep checking here anymore for future meetups. From now on, its every 2nd Saturday of each month~! So upcoming one would be 10th September.

Closer to Payday for those in SAF too, so no such reason as no $ to ride right? Hee hee.

As for location, everyone fine with KKFC? Got air-con, got drinks, got food, got space to park, easy-to-find (Pun intended :D ) :thumb:

hmmm i think 280 is for the clutch plate. i checked the pressure plate at minerva its abt 150...i think. I recently took out the cover n sprayed my pressure plate red ^^ look ok. Of course not as nice as the powder coated one but 100++ for the pressure plate...hmmm. Replacing either the pressure or clutch plate is very easy, all u need is a hmmm 3 or 4 mm allen key. Hope we will hear more dry clutches next time

cheers

n opps i nv log on for the past few days n missed today outing. Next time then...soon

Hey, does your monster use a Wet or Dry clutch?

If its the wet clutch, I changed my clutch plates AND springs for $240 labour inclusive. The bike shifted much better after that, and the clutch became alot smoother.

Mine is the wet brake..... oh tot only replacing the lever will do the job? Anyway I gona change the clutch plates, hope everyting goes on smoothly tat is no further unforseen expenses .....

Thanks nE0

Micheal did quote me something like $220 for the clutch plates, plus labour. Anyway, I got them done somewhere else for $240, including bleeding of the clutch. I changed the springs too, all of which contributed to much better clutch action and feel.

Tincan > Working on Saturday? If its on Friday, or any weekday, then I'd hardly be able to meet, cos I'll most probably be working night shift.

Went down to Minerva today and according to them, there's noting wrong with the clutch plates and basically no need for even servicing of anyting.... Unlike wat other shops told me to replace the clutch plates.

I guess i noe y the lost of speed, coz i have placed a piece material to fill in the gap of the clutch lever inorder to make the lever closer. Well, i was having prob pressing the lever as the lever was very hard so tot making the lever closer will solve my prob. Unfortunately, leads to another prob.

I'm considering to change the clutch system or I'll have prob riding her.

But then couldnt understand y the bike gets heat up so quickly and is there anyway to cool down the engine like those radiator / coolant in Jap bikes?

If your hands are too small and you find the clutch lever too far away, you can invest in an adjustable clutch lever, about $90 if I'm not wrong.

If you find the clutch too stiff, then you can try getting an aftermarket clutch slave cylinder, which can reduce lever effort by about 30%. QUite costly though, about $150-$200 I think.

The bike heats up very quickly? It should be fine as long as it doesn't overheat. Air cooled engines are designed to take bigger heat fluctuations compared to liquid cooled engines. Change your engine oil regularly to prevent premature wear and tear due though.

If you want, you can install an oil cooler, but so far no Ducati oil/air cooled engines come with active cooling (cooling fans).

Hey, thanks for your advice and basically I will be getting a adjustable clutch lever from Minerva next week. Dun wish to have aching fingers while riding.....

Hope able to catch up with u guys/gals to exchange more knowledge about the bike! :cheer:

I just cant help it but vent my Frustration here!!!

Was out with ron n on the way for some food at abt 3am. Those damn forces stopped me n issue me a ticket for SPEEDING at 73km/h. WTF the road is empty n so damn straight but i still maintained a low speed onli with a top speed of 73km/h!!! When they stop me, getting caught speeding is the lassst thing on my mind. My rpm is not even 3k.

Can we public get some speedgun n gun all those forces n c if they really travel at 50km/h on a 50 road.....at 3am.

Who on the right mind will travel at 50km/h on a empty road at 3am! i mean IMO.

Cheers!
