My spark needs overhaul pls recommend!!!

Hi all my fbb spark has been consuming eo n now got white smoke and I guess it's time for overhaul...any idea how much to standby?also any shop to recommend? Both sg and jb.... Thks guys

White smoke on a 4stroke bike usually means that your bike is burning EngineOil..

 

Most likely your piston ring gone, need replacement

 

 

Doesn't mean need overhaul.. There's commonly 2type of Overhaul (TopOverhaul & FullOverhaul)

 

 

In your case, my opinion is just top overhaul will do..

 

Unless your bottom engine gone liao, bearing/Conrod n ect gone..

 

 

All depends on wat u Need to do, not wat u Want to do..

 

Also depends how deep is your pocket

do in JB is better. if you have a fren to go with u would be best. most probably just do a full servicing and change out your piston ring will do. mechanic might want u to change your piston/valves/valve springs, imo its all up to u, if you haven't done so in a long time you might want to change them to be safe. i always go to KPM at ahgua lane in JB for my servicing.

 

his full service package includes wash carb, service piston, top block and valves. price for full service is 140rm if im not wrong. engine oil, coolant, engine gasket etc will cost u another 50-100++rm depends on what eo u change. if you want to change valve+valve spring is about 250rm for 1 set, piston ring and piston is separate, so all tgt is about 400rm++. if you want u can bring about 300 - 400sgd in just in case..

 

but all in all, just be safe and go in at least a pair, keep your passport on you, meaning inside your pocket at all times. and always watch out for your belongings, never ever leave them inside your basket while pumping petrol, asking for prices etc etc. bag should always keep in on you and zipped up inside your jacket if possible.

what kind of overhaul u did? what u changed

pls go back and check with the shop that did the overhaul and ask them about it.

 

do you have a detail receipt of what was being changed in the overhaul.

is the payment done using nets or credit card ( proof of payment, just in case the shop say you did not repair bike there)

 

if the shop talk nonsense, go and ask for second opinion from a reputable shop.

if the shop ask for more money to do more repair, red alert!!!

 

you go repair your bike NOT go be a carrot.

u have to run in. didn't they mention to u. my told me to do ~50 to 60 km for 1000km. Then change engine oil. Another 5k km ~70 to 80km.

 

how about your engine when u reach 70km ? any noise from the engine?

luck for me,my wave s total overhaul cost me rm950 which my friend neighbour was a mechanic. but it 2 hrs jounery in JB that why cheaper.

Dont go jb...try Ah kiong at braddle caltex. All original parts trust me..his so good till i stuck with him for 6years.
