Our tacho exposed. Next time I take it out, I'm gonna do some diy. Maybe an "FJR" decal will look nice.

And the tacho backlight bulb. Anyone knows where to get this sh*it?

Unlike super4, our tacho bulbs gets it power direct from circuitry board. If i'm not wrong, the turn signal uses T5 and I managed to pull the bulb out of its base. But this shi*t is smaller than a T5 and I can't pull it from the base!!! Wondering what to do if the bulb ever blows.

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

many of us go to Old Southern to get the uncle to change the bulb for us. its soldered on. unlike T10 or T5 that u can change yourself. you can do the soldering yourself though. but gonna be careful.

U mean the bulb soldered to the base or he solder direct to the board? Cuz the base is actually easily detachable from the board. I was wondering maybe the base and bulb is sold as a unit.

I used to use Pilot Road 1. They lasted me 20,000 km on a few occasions. But the cornering so-so. Den I switched to Pilot Sport with HPX for the rear. Nimble cornering and managed to last me 17,000km on 2 occasions. Den came Pilot Road 2. The cornering is slightly slower but this gives more control and at 20,000km, the thread still has maybe 30% left. I had a mended hole that started to leak so had to replace even though it can still go.
thks bro!:thumb:

wah bro,u can really do all this ah?? i oso can just dun know how to put back tats all

the tacho as u mention putting the FJR decal as an interface would be real cool..

fyi, me too go old southern to fix anything on my bike. mechanic Ah Heng he specialize in touring bikes and tats the only bike he want to touch..the rest he will push to other mechs around. there's never a time i saw he dun know how to fix or modify things on a bike, and thats what amazes me..

Perhaps the bulbs he can do for u the same or maybe able to fix up a brighter T5 bulb for the pole light?

To those who have used BT020 tyres, how long does the front tyre lasted? Mine showing signs of baldness at 10,000km. Prob long enuf to last me another 5k only. The rear one still looks so good.

Good choice bro changing to size 190..im also trying out the 190 for now abt 2 months already. so far the result is superb. very nice cornering due to its more concave tyre exterior.

At first it may get abit wobbly at the rear but its just the tyre covering more surface area on the road and u will get use to it..

Good change bro :thumb:

Am using Pilot Rd 2 oso.. Due to its 2CT technology, it gives a pretty good grip and confidence when cornering. Upz for this rubber!

Hi guys,

I got 3 pieces of Yamaha original oil filter to sell for $15/pc. PM me if you like to buy it.

Bought it from an ex-FJR forumer. Do not need these anymore as I'll be selling off my FJR.

All oil filters sold. Thanks.

Yeah I got it in June'09. Did want it to be a great touring bike - and it is!!! Just that it did not suit me. I'm rather puny and the FJR, though the lightest of its class, is still too heavy for me. It freaked me out a few times when maneuvering through slow traffic with a pillon because when I have to place my feet on the ground - and my foot tend to slip because of its 280KG weight!!

The other factor is speed and power - yeah once again, Yamaha did a great job with FJR by blessing it with 143bhp. However, after tasting something more powerful than 143bhp - I missed those days I can go beyond 280kph. So, I'd likely to go back to Suzi's Hayabusa.

Still if one were to ask me, "What's a good tourer to get?" - I'd still recommend FJR. :thumb:

Well described! Yeah - my sentiments are similar. Like what Ominlash said - we'll just have to get used to it.

first time while traveling about 30km/h,i purposely step hard on my rear brake n wanna experience how ABS works.i find that my rear wheel got 'tak' tak' sound..and its locked! is it normal..? quite funny..what i know ABS prevents the wheels on a motor vehicle from locking up (or ceasing to rotate) while braking...? care to explain?

I dun own an ABS FJR so I wouldn't know but generally, ABS is only active/armed above a certain speed. You have to check the manual or maybe ask HL above what speed is the ABS active.
