guys i just get the bike den i feel like got some problem oredi..

 

1. when ride i feeel the throttle very heavy .. meaning to open throttle very heavy. and at 90 den wanna maintain very difficult.. like its either speed goin up or goin down..

 

2. like the engine like not very smooth..

Juz go over and tell him u juz bot the FJR... ask him to do a full service of the bikes... also check out the engine condition.... tyres... brakes... fork seals... wheel bearings.. sterring cone.... coolant... etc.....

 

Above shud be one of the more main stuff.... juz ask Meng tong to check it all out...

What's the mileage done?

 

In my opinion, the cause of the heavy feel on the throttle might be as follow;

 

1. Throttle cable might be old. (Due to wear and tear)

 

2. Rust formed inside the throttle cable tube. (Due to oxidisation)

 

3. Lacks of lubrication in the throttle cable tube.

 

The ultimate solution is to replaced or lubricate the throttle cable set if the problem lies as the above-mentioned. In additional, request them to run a diagnostic test and read the display codes. Our bike's ECU will spells out what's not right.

 

The best is to get a reputable and experienced mechanic to rectify your complaint.

Saturday i shud be free~

 

Shaft oil.... juz buy it from any bike shop will do....

 

Im using Fuchs Sikolene Comp 4 now...... cheap n good... itz 15W50.... semi syn.... juz change ur engine oil n shaft oil regularly will do... about 5000km or when u feel the gear transmission aint smooth.

wot bike r u riding previously???

 

I was riding ST11 b4.... itz smooth in all gears...

 

FJR low gears like not very smooth.... but at high gears n high RPM.... itz smooth like a jet rocket!~

 

So probz u hv to get use to it.... maybe nuthing at all

I use motul fully syn.

 

Shaft oil u can get from autobacs.. Mobilube fullysyn. If u just wanna use mineral, most bike shop will have...

 

As for Fuchs, u will notice that our manual tells us not to use oils with API service CD and above to prevent clutch slippage. Fuchs sikolene explicitly has that rating. Of course, i think it should be fine but i just wanna play on the safe side.

You mentioned that the bike belongs to the Mechanic's brother. He should be able to tell and explain what went wrong. If not convince with his finding, send it to Hong Leong as they will be able to diagnos..

I'm not sure whether they have this rating behind them.. U can just take a look.. They have all the ratings there.. So far, Ive tried Rockoil and Motul and i feel Motul last longer.. So i've sticked with it for quite long. Just be sure u change the oil every 5000Km...

Its like I'm just following the manual.. But I didnt use Fuchs before. I dun have the expertise to say by using Fuchs, u will experience clutch slippage.

 

The manual says dun use that rating and Fuchs Sikolene explicitly state that rating out. So if anything happens, its my responsibility mah. But Motul and Rockoil doesnt have that rating. So if anything happens, I can still argue that they nv say.

 

Of cuz, i want to emphazise once again that i am just playing safe thats all. I believe Fuchs is a good brand and i wont discourage any FJRians from using it if they want to. Its the same as I dun despise gays but i wont become one myself..

Motul u can get from unity and some other bike shops. Its just the price which u will be able to get it at. Generally, it ranges from $20-$22 per litre. I always ask my friend to get from his mechanic at $20/litre.

 

Tot i told u Mobilube shaft oil can get from AUTOBACS!!?? The manual says shaft oil change every 10,000km. I just follow the recommended change period. Which means change whenever u change oil filter.

 

Most of us here change the engine oil and shaft oil ourselves. But throw the oil to motordiams pls.

guys i realy need yr gys help.. to day i bring the bike out for riding..

 

first the bike in 1st gear wanna pick up to move of suddenly the bike stall. den i pull cluth to start again den cannot. all the trip reading start to zero...

 

second riding at PIE ride slowly at 80 km/h suddenly the bike to jerk like dats no fuel dat kind. my fuel tank still at half tank. it jerk a few time leh..den when i exit to CTE on expressway i drop to first gear coz got road wrks den it die again...

 

im very worried eh guys help me pls.. wat can happen to my new bike huh...

 

have this happen to u guy not huh??? den i think the trottle very hard is not very normal and the cluth is damn hard too/.... help help

guys i just come back from topping up fuel at johore.. the problem still have very disturbing.. wat r the cause to it huh?? can it be the trottle that cause the jerking????

i will be back in sg ~6-7weeks time n serously considering FJR1300. b4 i place my order for the '05 model have a few questions.

 

1) does the heat really "ding dong" cooking hot? normal riding, during slow traffic & jams at c'way?

2) is the pinners fragile/unsercure? if yes can it be re-inforce?

3) wat's the avg. mileage per tank?

4) any specific thing to look out for during break-in? when to switch from minerial oil to fully syn oil?

5) recommended position for the IU?

6) recommendation back rest for pillion (without top box)?

7) recommended suspension setting n tire pressure for riding up NS 140-200km/h?

8) wats the diff btween '05 & '04 model? is '05 model worth the couple thousand $$ or should i go for the '04 model? if so where can i find a new '04 FJR1300?

best if since u bot it from the eddy ong mechanic... feedback to them the problem.. n ask them to rectify it.......

 

if the trip meter suddenly change all to zero.... probz ur battery or the fuses something screwed up i guess....

 

The jerking wise... cud it be attributed to slip clutch??

 

This juz my opinion.. im no expert in this area...

 

urz a EFI model right? it is realli disturbing... better settle it fast...
