I just bought my z1000 last week. Machine is 19.8k. But the price is going to up for the nx upcoming batch. What i heard is machine become 21.6k. z1000sx need to waiting until april according to evershine. The price is higher than the z1000 ofcos. Estimated 23-24k for machine.

 

I had a delima between fz1 and z1000 too. Finally i choose z1000. Reason is better technology and better looking. fz1 is like super 4. They r EVERY WHERE in SG... z1000 is much more unique.

fz1 is still good but it alrdy lost its edge. Its technology is alrdy 5-6yrs old. What they change is just their colour for the past few yrs. Ofcos the pricing for fz1 is better, but the price is going to up for the up coming batch too. Their excuse for price up is again the Jap yen is up...

 

FC for z1000 is abt 16km/l. fz1 is abt the same FC but fz1 got a bigger tank. 15L vs 17L

FC is diff from person to person. Its all depend on ur style of riding. More agressive = more fuel...

Just changed from the 06 FZ1N to an 04 Z1 Downgrade? Maybe, but needed the money as the fazer still holds value.

 

FZ1 tank is 18L but the low fuel light comes on very early. Mine's usually b4 200km but goes off and on. Stays on when over 200km but can run to 250 and still have 1-2L left. FC is ~12-16km/l, can't seem to top up exactly the same or the FC really jumps about so much. Nice beefy bike to look at, comparable to the newer Z1 with less plastics. Hot though, burn your balls from the seat. Some says Kawa rougher than Yammie, etc. but I think I like the stronger, lower frequency buzz than the smaller, higher frequency buzz. You don't feel uncomfortable with the yammie/honda while riding but it numbs you. Very common compare to the z1 but not as bad as S4.

 

The Z1 is still new to me, 4th day riding so can't comment much. But the gen 1 feels smaller and heavier then the fazer. Very agile while riding though. All depends on your suspension/tire setup.

 

Technology wise, the z1 gen3 is superior to the fz1 gen 2, on paper. Radial master/brake, better fueling. Both looks good and does the job for most of us, i.e. put a grind on our faces. imho go with which crawl your heart more, or your wallet less

 

Compare the picts side by side, then see what people do to make them better. Some bikes are easier to mod than others. Here's mine simple one:

If u r looking for quality and uniqueness, z1000 is 100% ur choice.

 

If u r going for budget, fz1 then. No matter its technology or parts or quality, all loss to z1000.

 

I suggest u go to Loois motor and take a look. There is a good place for u to compare all the bikes since they put them side by side. I hv done my comparison there. I can conclude that kawi bike is made of more quality parts n materials. Its not becos i now ride a kawi then i say that. I did the comparison BEFORE i bought the bike. U can try knock no the plastic and touch the metal parts. Kawi is really better in quality. U compare sport bike to sport bike, street bike with street bike. Yamaha is really budget 1. Suzuki is the worst. Honda is between Kawi n Yamaha.

Ya bro, last mth i was still comparing NEW bikes massively. All these are within my comparing scope. Z1000,Z1000SX,CB1000R,Hornet 600,FZ1N,FZ8N,FZ1S,FZ8S,Aprilla Shiver, Ducati Monster, Triumph Speed Triple, Street Triple and Triumph Tiger.

 

I not only study them online and read the reviews. I actually when down to bike shops to see them, smell them, touch them. Except for the Z1000SX is not available.

 

After i factor in all my considerations(Price, functions, practicability, performance, design, parts availability, resale bla bla bla..) . At last, i chose the Z1000. Ofcos different ppl will weight the factors differently.

 

My final words is choose WHAT U LIKE MOST! U got to ride it everyday. U buy it cheap but u don't like it, u wont be happy. Same if u like it so much, u bought then find it hard to afford, u also wont be happy.

 

You really got to weight all the factors carefully and decide what you want. Z1000 is my choice!

Hello all. Was at a the traffic light junction on my way home yesterday, and a bike came alonside me when it was red light. Never seen such a unique bike before, and on closer inspection, saw the words z1000 on the fairing. I googled it and realised it the kawa z1000. DAMM &^%$#@ NICE!!! Seriously considering it as my top option to upgrade in the near future!! The bike I saw on the road was all-black, abit like stealth like that, damm nice...
