Let me start with the usual list of farkles for upgrades:

1. panniers - rear / side panniers

2. windscreen - touring / OEM tall

3. center stand

4. protection - engine guard / tank guard

- hand guard

5. exhaust - slip-on

Anything else that you folks are planning to do?

I am planning 1, 2, 4 and 5. Will most likely give the center stand a miss.

I'm planning for optuon 1,2 and 4. Dont know where to get it. I prefer to install in singapore, rather than order online. Don't have a feel for the materials.

I'm going 1 (only rear), 3 and 4 (only engine guard).

My picks would be 1 - 3 - 4 probably without hand guards.

Don't think it's wise to put panniers meant to carry lots (touring) and not put a center stand. Also easier to drop the bike if someone "tries" it by sitting, when it's on side stand only. (there should be a natural law where you die instantly if you sit on someone else's bike without their consent)

I would add:

6. Handlebar brace (seeing the size of the handle bar probably a good idea = not much space for GPS or a cam mount as it is)

7. Rear huger and front fender extension : it's very short on the 400X and the radiator is right there taking all the crap the front wheel throws

8. Horn: have not heard it myself but reviews say it's a bit weak so probably put a pair of Hella horns there

9. Hazard lights: does the bike come with them ? If not, will probably install a little relay mod to get the blinkers to do the job

Thanks for the clarification, saw a few posts from thai riders complaining about the horn and having it changed.

I am a bit worried about the fc... From the review it says that it can reach 39km/h... But average of us got around 30km/l which is so much of a difference... Wonder would the fc be better after running in?

disappointed with the fuel cap though....

Is it confirmed for the 400X as well ?

On fuelly, the average seems to be 27km/L for most and about 30km/L for more economic rides. I highly doubt a 400cc bike can pull 39km/L, that's the manual's FC I think, which is usually based off speeds and engine usage we seldom have in real life (for example very low speed below 70km/H or no traffic stops etc..)

Just changed EO at motoworld. 800km milage, motul 300v 15w50 x 3 bottles, and HF303 oil filter honda long. Total cost me 127 bucks..

Ouch.. Can you give the breakdown please? How much the oil filter costs ?

:) Not gonna happen so soon. My 2B is still doing well so I'm not in a hurry, and already have 2A license so it's all about thinking where to put the money. Have been toying with the idea of a Versys but always found that capacity just too much for SG. Now that the 400X is here, sounds like a smarter choice, but gotta wait and see if usage vs expenses will make sense. I prefer to learn more about the bike before jumping in.

Probably won't do the side panniers, only top box. Will just get the rack from Hepco (either order it online or get M-Technik to order it for me) and transfer my current box over to the 400X.

Agree on the handlebar brace, will go look for a Renthal one, plus it should make a good area to bolt on a GPS device.

Are after-market horns legal in the LTA books?

Oh ya, I will want to check how the levers are, might change to a decent pair of ASVs too...

Only air horn are not allowed. I have friend who installed car horns on their bikes and pass inspection every year so I guess the range is pretty wide ;)

I myself have Hella horns on my Pulsar since day 1 and never had an issue.

The hepco rack is sweet, what topbox do you currently use ?

For the crash bars and engine guards, what's the pricing usually ? $200-300 ? I was thinking maybe this group could do a bulk order to the Seng Kwang brothers , they might give a good price..

Saw this on another forum, from thailand rider :

Definitely a must to have, from the pics riders who fell already posted, the fairing by the "X" and the stator cover are the first to take damage.
