Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

rebuild usually includes new shims, new oil. sometime may also need to change a new spring.

and of course, checking the internals of the shock while doing so.

good + fast = not cheap

fast + cheap = not good

good + cheap = not fast

try using the above equation to see.. see if you are good at maths..

Mezzo and Bikelab are the common places for rebuilding shocks..

Dear fellow riders,

My friend was asking me whether Showa rear shocks can adjust height anot? For example making the ride height lower. cuz he not v tall. when on the bike the feet cannot fully touch the ground. Quite dangerous.

ANyone know?

Showa shocks only preload adjustable..

try turning the preload setting to the lowest.. i assume your friend is lightweight, thus by lessening the preload setting, his feet can touch ground..

If we adjust the heights, let say for me, I want mine to be higher.. And vtec_craze wants lower.. Will the showa lifespan be affected or is it bad for it..??

will have to loosen the screws of the top and bottom triple clamps, then adjust the height. better to go bike shop and do. free of charge and no sweat. let the mechs do it better cos they know more. but do take note tat if the height is not equal, ur bike will tend to move to one side as you ride. eg; if left is lower than right, bike will move to the left. so make sure its equal heights...

bro s4vtec, thanks for the advice... will go bike shop and adjust.. hope that after adjusting the fork height and rear shocks preload.. the height of the bike will be lower ..

bro senate747, thanks for advice too.. but i'll be lowering the height instead of increasing it.. if increase somemore, my legs will be almost "floating"..:p thanks anyway!!

the rear shocks can be adjusted by yourself if you have the original tool kit. i had mine adjusted only recently using it. very simple.

It all depends on the machine weight unloaded and when max loaded. You might wan to check for suspension tuning guide on pre-load setting. I'll help you look around for it too...
