Its all plain luck. Gt caught w/o silencer by LTA. Just outside old police academy. Pie exit thomson rd. 8plus mornin. Got to noe those LTA guys always around there :(

Every morning a whole bunch of them ride through that area. From LTA at Sin Ming. Up Marymount to Thomson Road. Some times they carry on, some times see them turn into the Old PA.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

My opinion, the only way to minimise exposure is to use a legal exhaust :cheeky:

I saw those small 125cc LTA bike with a blue siren at the back....Are those LTA only for parking offenses only or they have full LTA authority ?

Parking offenses only.

Just be careful especially on expressway , normally they see sportbikes , they aim the exhaust first , if it is aftermarket and not oem then they most prob will stop you to inspect it.. IMO , if you ride day in and out , make sure it is fully legal.. if they fussy or PMS , even led signal switch they will fine you.. Nevertheless , if you wanna violate and modify , be prepared to get caught and risk being fine...

Having to go through the hassle now really is a waste of time.. go inspection center then back to bike shop and spend money to "lend" or buy OEM then back to inspection center... if it is borrowed , still have to go back and change... You dont want to go thru all these

Love is like the wind. You can't see it but you can feel it .:)

Yes. Agreed. Last time when on my drz. Always kena eye by the LTAs. Damn sien. Half legal exhaust. See them the heart also skip a beat. Straight reduce throttle and pass them.. Sienn. Now change class 2 all stock. Worry free. But not a nice ride as my drz. Zzz

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

My '07 busa was caugt with illegal Leo Vince exhaust. Didn't get caught on the road. I was caught by surprise instead, suddenly letter came to the mail box. They caught me while my bike was parked stationery at mscp.

How we are stopped doesnt really matter...what matters is what they can find on your bike...

I was stopped twice....using LTA-approved aftermarket exhaust...

first time stopped on expressway...showed him photocopies of my paperwork(road tax, insurance, exhaust papers)...the guy radioed back and confirmed that I have an aftermarket registered...took photos and said if 2 weeks later no letter from LTA means OK....so I just go off and nothing came in the letterbox....

2nd time on normal road....the guy signalled for me to stop....he just asked me if my exhaust is approved....I told him yes it is and he just took it as that and we both went on our ways.Didnt even open my box to show paperwork.

To be old and wise, you must first be young and foolish.

What are the odds of having two punctures, on the same tyre, on separate occasions, in a 223km ride?:dozed:

are they even allowed to do that? catch you while it is parked stationery. i thought you could only be fined if you are caught riding with the illegal exhaust? do you attempt to appeal?

Definitely allowed and common practice now.
