Define full power? I mean... Which bike doesn't have full of its own power? Besides, in my opinion, there is not much benchmark today to compare the MV against. Considering the dominant inline 750s available today are quite only the Suzukis. But if you were to ask me, the F4 750 has quite a well-distributed range of power. Not exactly snatchy I would say, I think it's more of the tight grips and racy position. Infact I kinda feel the F4 750 lack punch, the "wao I'm going fast" factor.

Have no wish to offend the many MV owners and supporters here, MV is truly a work of art, but leading bike? Performance numbers? Championship titles? I don't smell any of them. Maybe leading in terms of pricing and aesthetic appeal.

actually to be frank.. mv is doing quite well in the races they participate in.. one main issue why they had stop at 750 last time bcos lack of resources (money), and i believe weight is a big issue for most of the italian bikes at that point of time. japanese bikes nornally take weight as one of the most important factor.. but so far mv still maintain the same weight (ard there) as the 750 for the 1000 cc version. But the engine is getting more and more powerful. You mite not noe they can win jap bikes in near future...

i agree 750 ones (not spr) dun perform very well last time. But to see it with open eyes, take a look at how the 1000cc are performing.. i was amazed actually =)

actually to be frank.. to be on tv or not is not an issue, cos ducati is brought to life by claudio castiglioni in fact... so same as mv... they standard is ard there ...

i cant say much abt the new 999 or 1098 or 1188 in fact.. but mv is slowly getting on the path.. and i believe they will do so...most ppl buy bikes bcos they feel they are good... years ago when mv is not so famous and "good" the sales is terrible.. but now, the sales in europe aussie and some parts of america are so astonishing..

i dun really compare duke and mv since they are from same designer... and different engine.. kinda unfair in some way...

but i guess mv will do as much good as wat ducati is doing..

mv no doubt is much abit more of exclusive and art but i believe they are concentrating on the performance factor which lotsa ppl claim dats wat italian lose out in... at the end of the day.. no matter zx10r,r1, 1098 or f4 312 R is the fastest, wat matters most is the rider and owner must enjoy it..

there is a reason for dat bcos we hardly uses the very very top end.. had done flat six, vtwin , il4 and all performs differently.. and i will say all are good for their kind =)

for me.. will consider mv 1st den duke... mite be a diff for others.. but both serve their purpose (attraction)

Duh.... so much review here about performance etc etc and etc...

There are different reasons for different people "TO BUY MV" and reasons "NOT TO BUY MV".

Here's my reason to get a MV:

I just want to own a bike call MV AGUSTA and I don't bladdy care how fast or slow it can go. I don't care how much petrol this fella needs to drink daily. All I want is to ride this sexy fella where ever I go.

Lastly, all I know is, I got a sexy bike and I don't care if others like it or not.

Heh heh.. simple as that....

Can we stop something like comparing "mine is bigger thans yours" etc etc...

There wouldn't be an end to it.

Cheers!

i had to agree with this.. we cant satisfy everyone in the world and i dun go ard compare mine is faster den yours since i dun ride fast actually...

most important is you like the ride and if ppl like yours.. they can envy.. if dun like yours.. den be it.. as simple as dat...

p/s: i like ur ride =p

Well i guess most ppl does not know that duke and Mv comes under the same person and the quality it produce .... most younger generation are more into success and number of winings a particular brand has ..... than the quality of the bike

Bottom line is ..... we have never use the full power of most of the bike we have.

TO me i always prefer to have better bottom and mid end rather than the top

ya.. i had to agree more with you man... they are the same person who make this 2 brand popular.. if anyone wans to noe the story i can dig out the data for you.. but i doubt no one wans to noe actually..

it is true ducati is more popular now.. and last time.. but in fact.. its CC (claudio castiglioni in short) whom brought ducati from "graveyard" at a very low price.. and made a legend 916 which i believe alot ppl noes abit it..

at that pt of time.. cagiva research center (CRC) concentrate on ducati, not mv or cagiva. After dat when ducati is sold to a usa company, there comes cagiva and mv.

but at dat time, CC had spend alot of time and money on research for the new mv but den.. sales and production became a big issue so it had stop for sometime b4 proton took over and make tings happen for a while and finally to some italian company hands.. and so far so good..

now mv is doing great and imagine so many ppl supported the brutale although it may seem overprice in aussie.. and ppl get mv.. not just 1.. but diff models... spr is a killer at that time.. but now of cos... the new f4 1000 cc had evolve alot to the present stage.

mv is suppose to be the new ducati 749 / 999.. but the brand is sold... so they make it on mv. Frankly speaking, so far i believe mv had not change much since the f4 750 S. they believe in the design and i believe it works!!

No offence, but to be specific, they're not leading yet (or are they? to be honest i'm not sure). No doubt they're doing well, but there is a difference when you quote "leading", sensitive keyword. And yes, probably any litre bikes given its sporty setup, it is a performance bike. But it still somehow pales in comparison with regards to their performance numbers of similar class, in my personal opinion. Yes, you said, in future.

My point is, given the passion and dough, I would ride a MV. But each to its own, when you are asking for that edge, MV is not up to scratch for me. It is ofcourse about preference when it comes to possession, I would not argue on that. Just look at it as a healthy debate; no competition, no improvement. :)

Cheers.

Those who think Duc are fast JUST because Stoner seems to prove so, I tell them "Dun be stupid.....that's a GP bike, the rest on the road are not, except for one special model." Maybe Starhub should show WSBK more....it's fun to see Troy Bayliss getting all smoked out by Haga on his Yammie or by James Toseland on his Honda at the straights, cuz that is the true fact!

That's the attitude!!! For me I just want a bike I could have a good time learning more in the tracks because I am in the stage where I do not want to blame the bike, but believe it's myself in the tracks.

MV, Duc or what, for sure I know the bike is gonna crash in the track some ways, somehow, because I want to push my limits.

I will never allow my sportsbike to sit pretty and shinny. Pretty and shinny, maybe a Harley...but damn me, I would ride a Sportster in a track too...

Mind you that the number of winnings is actually quite an accurate reflection of the quality of bike. Believe in the junk-in-junk-out theory, unless the GP league varies of riders with people like me and Rossi being put together to race. If that is the case, letting me ride the Desmosedici wouldn't help.

And... Sorry, only YOU wouldn't use the full power of it. I would say many good riders out there are able to put their tyres to the limit. Who would get sick of more power? Just look at the amount of people punching top speeds, pulling wheelies on NSH every night, maybe it's time for you to straddle on some real crotch rockets.

Well, I do hope to see some real MV track junkies since someone claims MV ownership is raising here in USA. So far the AngMo riding the MVs in PG dun impress me, seems to be running in rather than red lining the MV.

I would really love to see some MV smoking my a$$ in the tracks.

Certain bikes speaks for itself, like the Triumph Daytona 675, whom I witness a new rider in PG simply improved himself tremendously in a short 1 hour session. The bike just gave him the confidence and he's not even hanging off the Daytona 675 yet. I'm impressed by things like these, rather than dyno figures, performances figures, etc.

I'm sure the MV would be kicking our a$$ in the hands of Hart or DocDol....if they are already fast on their "non leading" Yammies, lol!!!
