I prefer digital because no need to pay developing fees for the film. Also can review pics immediately after taking, if no good can take again. I usually burn the pics into a CD-rom, can keep for long long time.

Now got the new minolta Z1 10X ultra zoom camera with night movie mode and many innovations. very tempting.... :bounce:

Panasonic DMC-LC40 and a manual camera bought during my school days. Love black and white photography. The contrasts between black and white is so beautiful.

Personally, I prefer the manual cam for doing 'stunts' on it but of cos, digital camera has already taken over the wonders of ol'manual ones but I still love the feel of holding a heavy, stable and made-of-metal cam instead of a plastic one.

Developing photographs manually also can be editted. It's just that you have to dodge and burn and crop manually. I think it's more fun this way. More hands-on. ;)

I think b&w developing costs around 40cents each. I think b&w film is hard to buy now. Have to go to Peninsula Plaza.

Had dark room lessons during my school days. It was fun as in you will really have to feel your way around in the room. Let me share some of my experience.

For developing colour photographs, the room must be completely dark. If it's b/w photographs, the safe light(red) can be switched on.

Rolling of film requires skills and experience because this will be done in total darkness. You will need to remember where you have placed the bottle cap and scissors to cut the film when it ends.

Then, you will have to pour in chemicles to develope the film. I remember having to shake the bottle for duno how many times. Once the film is done, it will need to be dried.

On photopaper, 2 chemicles will be used for developing and washed in clean water(cold) to get rid of the chemicles.

'Test strips'(pieces of small photopaper) will be needed to confirm the amount of light exposure needed on the photopaper. For colour, it's CMYK you will need to adjust. For b/w, it's the amount of contrast needed. And for this, you have to spend alot of time doing this few steps over and over to get the best results.

Finally, when it's dried, you get your piece of art on paper! Voila!

Btw, anyone here into night photography? I love taking pictures at night! :D
