What do you mean by better??

Accuracy or what??

In general, the Germans made is better than the Japaneses made in terms of accuracies over the long run...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

some displays are best kept in analog while others digital imo.tach meter should be analog and speed display shld be digital. then u get best of both worlds..

Interesting topic.

HowStuffWorks: How does a digital odometer work?

Given a choice between installing a digital or an analogue speedometer, I would rather choose digital. Analog ones get the speed reading from an (IMO) unreliable speedometer cable; it's mechanical so there's a good chance of wear and tear.

I've had speedometer cables blunt themselves often, disconnecting itself from the speedometer. I've also had to replace the "driving gear" in periods of less than a month because they wore out -- this spare part is mounted on the wheel and is responsible for spinning the speedometer cable to give out the appropriate speed reading.

Plus it's cool too

Actually, bikes do come equipped with what you've described.

The new Aprilia RS125 comes with a digital panel and has the periodic "service reminder" feature.

Most Japanese 600cc (and higher) bikes have digitalized speed readouts, mileage calculators, digital fuel indicator, and every readout that's basic to every biker's need.

Italian 600cc (and higher) bikes take these considerations one notch further, adding battery voltage readouts, tripmeter, coolant temperature, gear position, and all the niceties that one can ever drool on. And on sportbikes, on-board stopwatch and lap timer too. :lovestruck:

(P.S. Some bikes do come equipped digital readouts for engine RPMs too, except that the digital tachometer is shaped like an analogue meter; the "needle" is simply "drawn" on the LCD.)
