The question that I'll pose to the TS and other class 2-wannabes is - Do you want what you need, or do you need what you want?

I am riding class 2 street bike as the main bike and use mainly for commuting to work with a huge 48L top box and once a while touring. FC slightly more than 2A at 18km/l.

Over 4 years of ownership just normal wear and tear parts to replace like most 2A bike and cost the same. Class 2 bike engine is bulletproof if you do regular maintenance.

The heat I find it ok at worst highest is only 105 degree and fan is already on and cooling down, and normally I off the engine when stuck in traffic jam. Normal cruising 90km/hr is 85 deg on a hot sunny afternoon which is acceptable.

I find it pratical to own a class 2 bike in SG as it has more power and torque to overtake safely and the cost of ownership about same as 2A.

yahoo.com;8204477]Hye guys...

Im interested in kawa z800...any feedback on this bike??.is it true kawa got no resale value??..

You buy bike to sell or to ride?

Posted
Thank you for your opinion...

I don't really care about re sale value but I know both the Honda and Suzuki would not be very far off...

Blade is definitely more fun and nimble... I guess busa is going to less nimble? Anyone made a sportsbike fireblade/ R1 more touring friendly?

Just get a Fazer. Sportbikes don't make good touring bikes. Period.

That's why they speed so fast while touring. To reach the next destination for stretching.. Heheh. Just a joke, no intention to offend sports bike riders..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

yahoo.com;8205001]This my first new bike..just want to ride in spore n to have a bike look futuristic look...plan to use this bike for long

If resale value is a concern, try to refrain buying new. First owner almost always take the biggest depreciation hit. And it is worse for non-popular makes or models. IMHO, Kawasaki falls into this category.

It's true, it's tiring to do city riding on sports bikes, it's even more tiring on long distance. Short distance blasts they are fine.

sportsbike is so tiring, i ride to and fro work everyday, 20-25mins journey, it always leaves my wrist and back aching, previously riding on cbr400rr

now i've move on to aprilia tuono (got it one week ago), insane speed, like what many riders say, totally not practical for singapore road, on expressway cruising, i'm going at gear 4 -_-

on straights where i know there's no speed camera, i can push to gear 5 and go 120-130, never even have the chance to go into gear 6

about the heat issue, WA the V4 engine is insane hot, for those who dunno, tuono is the naked counterpart of RSV4, start the bike for 30s and you can feel the heat, when riding in shorts and slippers, can totally feel the heat around the ankle area, but not to the point that can cause blister la. on my previous cbr400, zero issue on heat, i can't even feel any heat whatsoever. i have rode cb400 revo, xj6 for my class 2a, 2 test before, revo is quite hot imo, around the tank area where your thighs are gripping, hot enough to make your thighs numb, xj6 no issue with the heat, ridiculously smooth transmission, i can ride around circuit at gear 2 at 2000rpm and bike is still smooth

i think in future, with commitments of relationship or family, i might eventually move to a class2 maxi scooter, comfortable, fast, about to 2up, save fuel. in a few years time, when i had enough fun wtih 1000cc bikes, 600cc scooter is the way to go :D

P.S: i think 400cc is a little underpower for me though, although i think super 4 is the overall optimum bike for singapore traffic, i dun understand the point of cb400x though, i think u either get nc750x or cb400, cb400x is just a pointless, in the middle of nowhere bike

I smile too but only on the highway 😁. When it comes to the streets and traffic and rain and parking, the Vespa is a real joy. Don't know abt you but there's something abt the Vespa that makes it look good parking illegally on the pavement LOL 😌

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!
