Story goes like this:

One of my friend bought his bike without license.

He rode his bike without license n pass through ERP without cashcard & now he is worried sick tat LTA will find out about his illegal fine.

1. I'm wondering whether LTA's system will be able to detect his illegal activities?

2. Anyone knows what is the consequence for riding without license?

3. If he manage to get someone w license to admit riding without insurance, what will be the consequence to ride without insurance?

4. Consequence of allowing people to ride yr bike without insurance?

I seriously believe that u shouldn't play a fool w s'pore law as the consequence is not worth it.

Would appreciate if anyone can answer the qn to serve as an warning to those wannabes & quench my curiosity.

Thks!!

The ERP system would have obtained the photo of the bike's license plate.

The ERP system's primary job is to make people pay the toll to get into the city -- as well as to electronically and optically (aka camera doing shots of vehicle's license plate) obtain the vehicle's particulars in order for LTA to process the associated ERP fines to the "offenders."

I'm guessing that whether the system is shared by LTA enforcement officers -- is another story altogether. I have to agree with you as well...your friend did something that's not wise.

if he can find a person to take the blame for him, that person must be quite dumb cuz that guy gonna lose his license for riding without insurance.. if he really kena caught, just ask your friend to admit it la... be responsible for your actions man..

This looks pretty bad.....

In fact, your friend's situation is not good at all.

The only thing he can do now is to wait for the letter to arrive, either that or go to lta straight away to pay for the fine for erp.

Then pray very very hard that the TP doesn't come down on him and slap him with another few offences.

How pple manage to buy a bike without a licence is still puzzling to me.... How is the transfer done without a valid insurance which needs the driver licence to be produced still puzzles me.....

...not forgetting the fact that the bikeshop can allow the unlicensed owner to ride the bike out.

most bike shops dun care abt ur safety... care more if ur $$ got go into their pocket... how many times have u heard ppl complaining abt the state of bikes thy got from shops?? always got this problem that problem... its $$ that talks...

u seldom see bike shops do a proper servicing before handing over the bike to new owners...
