i also ridding spec 2 whack or dont whack still 320... try changing ur spark plug service carb and retune carb.. sure got diff in mileage 1... if still dont haf go put volt stabilser or grounding say it will help in petrol usage and better throttle response

i just changed EO and plugs..serviced air filter and changed oil filter 3 weeks ago. carb was serviced the day i got this bike around 2 mths ago..my micron end can doesnt affect much right?? my front wheel is 250 rear 280 using M3. always average 250-280 before blinker wit occasional vtec play.

change of end can also will affect fuel consumption.... heard some ppl change full exhaust system also f.c quite good can reach 370++(donno true or not) ..Grounding and voltage stabiliser will increase f.c but by abit.. but also increase in throttle respond and all that...The idea of having a bike with a vtec is to use it... btw u tune ur bike already??

bike is tuned the day i put on the micron. now it has 5 pt grounding and pivot stabiliser. tyre pressure supposed to be 250 F 280 R then another mech advised not to and reset to 34 F 36 R. so wat exactly is the right pressure. using M3 n mech said the guide on chain guard is for japan use here road temp different.

usually change gear btw 5 - 6 and not go beyond otherwise vtec open, no point to waste petrol for nothing hehe

think if wanna save petrol, then open at any RPM before vtec opens.

but if wanna play vtec, then just drag all the way man, who cares when TP is not around!!!

Want to fly? just before the limiter. 13000rpm is peak power for my setup.

But 12000rpm is peak standard power for specII.

I like to change around 9500(8000for standard) becuase there is a sweet spot around that mark. It's rapid and I get to hear the vtec kickin in.

For economy I use a vtec controller to stay on 2valve.

Best thing for economy, buy a scooter or get your grandma to ride. A vtec controller can help, but a heavy wrist is like a heavy drinker.

Check this page. Graph is hard to read but may help.

The Cb400 was built as a street bike not a racer. As the NC evolved it became a street fighter and with the vtec a muscle bike able to fight above it's wieght.

vtec is something to make ur bike smoother ride ... u are actually "dragging" ur bike at 100km.h if vtec neva open....

my spec2 also same 100.km.h without vtec vibrate ... now not so cos change to maxima extra... goodie 4t.. smooth not much vibration..

if u know the power curve well, u will know which rpm is in the range that u need to change gear.

if u dun need fast pick up, change gear fast. if u wan fast pick up, drag higher then change.

how to save fuel, that u have to find out urself cos every bike is different. n of cos, ur bearings n drive chain plays a part in smooth ride n fuel saving. alot of things come into pic.

I did a dynamometer test on a bike engine during uni b4. It was wr426. The most efficient period would be when the torque's gradient is at its highest. That comes to near 4K rpm. (If i can remember correctly... coz quite some time ago)If we were to apply the same theory, then to save petrol, we can try to go at 70-80 km/h.

S4 manual states FC is 37 Km/L at 60 km/h, don't knwo true or not, think nobody gonna try b4 cos we are not buying a 400cc bike to save petrol....For smooth riding, i feel my spec 2 change gear at 4.5k the best, lower than that the next gear seems don't have sufficient speed to continue the pick up

i change gear at 4rpm. full tank can last 374km.

sometimes will whack vtec, full tank will last 360km+

riding constant 95kmh - 6rpm.

vtec open at 110kmh

Some idiot poured sand on the carpark lot and I lost control. My bike dropped, and thank goodness nothing serious. Mirror, clutch lever, tank and box.. All no problem at all.

I managed to restart my bike, and I realised my gear lever is dented! Only can switch from gear 1 and neutral gear.

Used a hammer to knock it back, but it stubbornly refused to give way!

Anybody knows what can be done? If change the whole thing, I hope it doesn't cost much?

dun waste the money bro..

u cannot knock it using a hammer..

try using a size 24 round head spanner

slot it in, find a pivot point for the centre of the spanner and slowly pull it out..

Some people measure their adventures in miles or days. I prefer "lamp posts".

I tried. It's worse than going gym.

I sweat like mad. The metal too thick already.

try use a BIG BIG ring spanner , let the ring slip in through the rubber side of the gear shifter , use the frame side of the spanner to hold it/lock it, adjust ur hand 2 near 2 the other side of the ring spanner & pull it back ... have some 1 2 support the bike just it case ... hope it help i saw bike shop do that ...

Do and die, don't ask why , and u will SURVIVE!
