not sure about spy but i know spy can set to very sensitive, ie ur finger touch on the alarm goes off. others i not sure. price is $100+ someone in forum selling.

my scorpio is originally $500+ i got it 2nd hand so cheaper.

comes with 1x RFID remote which will auto arm and when u walk away. to disarm just turn on the ignition and it will auto disarm, provided that ur remote is nearby so the ignition sensor will not trigger and if your microwave sensor is on too, make sure u have ur remote with u otherwise it will trigger when u get near enough.

the microwave sensor is super sensitive. i set it to damn low it can still detect cars driving by, so i had to set it to ultra low. when it rains, the microwave sensor will trigger as it detect rain drops as movement regardless of the sensitivity setting, so quite annoying have to turn off the microwave sensor during rain. the microwave sensor seems to have a blind spot, it cannot detect anything infront of the bike which i think is due to the placement of the sensor.

there is tilt sensors as well, so when someone lifts your bike up from the side stand it will straight away trigger and the remote tell you so and you probably have to run to your bike.

next is the shock sensors, which i feel is pretty lousy even at the highest setting, it require quite abit of effort to trigger the shock sensors, but with so much other sensors, i think the they pretty much make up for it.

back up battery, if the alarm power supply is cut off, ie they cut away the battery connection, the alarm will go off in loops as there is a backup battery inside which will sound the alarm even if the power is cut off for quite a long while and there is no way to stop it other than smashing the alarm.

lastly is the remote start which i didnt install as i have HISS.

distance wise from 9th floor i can receive the alarm anywhere in my house. the alarm sound wise, pretty loud if the place is enclosed like a MCP, acceptable in the open, but i believe there are louder alarms out there.

btw i think the remote is waterproof and it is nice with everything displayed, with a trigger history so u can see what time which alarm was triggered. are you still in range with the bike, battery of the remote, time, lock or unlock, which sensors are disabled and it shows the battery voltage of the bike too.

so far i am pretty satisfied with the alarm as i enjoy the auto arm and disarm function. convenient!

I know of an alarm that cost only 20 bucks and does not require any installation. It works perfect for me when I go touring and is reasonably sensitive when you MOVE the bike. It doesn't have any high tech microwave sensor. Just a simple motion sensor that triggers of when the bike is being moved. Just sharing with you guys ;)

When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story. Hehe :thumb:

Yes, glad that someone is following wif my postings.

I am now using the 3rd version, and I believe I am so far the only one in Singapore with it fixed onto a bike.

I am 101% satisfied with this 3rd version with tilt sensor. However, the price isn't cheap to most riders out there.

But for me, I find it quite reasonably priced, afterall, I did install a $140-value alarm for my previous phantom 200.

For those who genuinely interested, let me know. See if I can work something out for u guys.

Hi Bro, Newbie own Vitec 1 and like to know, if its ok to get that 3rd version alarm to install on my bike..price no issue and wer to get it fix..Thanks:cool:

Dunno what you meant by 3rd version. Maybe you can state what you referring. There are afew alarms to choose from like spy2, cheetah and alot more depending on your budget.

Hi guys. Heard from some other riders than I can get a 2 way alarm, complete with installation @ Lorong Bapok, JB. Steelmate brand I think. Any idea exactly which shop it is ? Any suggestions ?

Cause I looked up http://www.motoworld.com.sg/thumbnail.php?act_id=1&cat_id=19. If the promo mentioned is for the Scorpio, then even though its secured, it's really out of my budget.

Just looking for a deterrent for these "itchy-no-good" hands.. :p
