Few months ago, we confiscated 5 air pistols from some guys. Anything that fires a projectile that can harm is illegal.

Cheers!

just visited safra shooting club yestherday. purchase my very first box of pellet. Shooting is really fun and a relax game. i really envy those that have their own gun. (my dream will become true in 7 yrs time).

air pistol number 42 is a pretty good gun. shoot very accurate.

I am learning to shoot with my right arm and right eye now. (my nature eye is left eye)

1. must be a safra shooting club member (or similar) to use the facilities.

2. the lane fee is $2+ (1-2hr) and the pistol rental is $2+

3. the pellet is $8+ per can (500 piece)

4. the target paper is $1+ for 10 piece (for pistol type)

total i spend is $13+ on that day.

i don't have to buy pellet the next round becos still have 3/4 left. i have 4 piece of target paper, i may not need to buy paper if i little cheapo hehe..

nice right?

safra shooting club membership is $60 per yr. you will have to underwent the compulsory 3 day (2 hr) course (about $42 including 3 day of lane fee). the course is very basic, it will remind you of all the safety and rules in the book (1st day). then will teach you the rules on how to handle a pistol/rifle and "what cannot do" rules (2nd & 3rd day). If time permit, i think they will also teach you how to count the score. The coach told us on the 2nd day that will teach us on the 3rd day, but i think he forgotten. sigh... :-)

the person has to be a safra member before joining the shooting club. (i don't know if u are or not).

I see other shooting club member using the safra shooting facilities too. so maybe if you belong to a certain shooting club, you can ask if your membership can use the facilities or not first.

treat it as u pre-purchase all the swimming enterance ticket at 1 time for the yr. that is the same thoery i told myself when i sign up. hehe....

i've tried the air pistol thingy before.. and also the rifle... IMO, pistols are more fun... but having served army, firing numerous rounds... its hard to appreciate air pistols...

too sensitive trigger and too quiet... i've seen those kids from national team shoot before... they're crazy... score card has like 3 holes after they shot 10 rounds....

btw.. they didnt miss.. they went tru the same hole too many times...

What's the actual penalty for being caught with a air pistol? Sometimes the custom officer give chance & just confiscate, but what's the actual maximum penalty. If penalty is low, I might consider getting one in future. :cheeky:

actually it is legal to own a pistol. but are u sure you want to own 1. it cost 2-3k each pistol. have to get the licence from CID before the purchase. most competition person will get their own gun.
