wash/ tune carbs + standard servicing

Level of service: 9

What makes this shop commendable? (give details..)

Me and my bike buddies service at this shop. Ah meng is a real honest fellow. He will tell you what to bring( because malaysia's prices for class 2 bike parts expensive, and most things like k&n also don't have) before he service your bike. He always recommends FJT for genuine honda parts.

He will tell you whether certain parts are good or lousy, how to mod the bike if you want, teach you how to tune your bike( carb air and suspension) according to normal road use, touring, or track day. He is already track proven(as a mechanic and R6 rider).

The best thing is that after the mechanic finish, the boss, either tai seng kooi himself or his twin brother, both legends in the malaysia and asian circuit (supersport series and superbike series respectively) will test your bike and do the final touches.(for info, the bosses were the undisputed track kings during their time.)

But, to be noted that my frens ride super4(all fully satisfied customers) while I ride an F3, which is basically the same bike that the boss uses for track. Other bikes I don't know la...

wat time is its operating hrs?

What makes this shop commendable?

The know it all ah bee as all the bikers in Sinapore should have known, i bought my krr from him and as u all know he would boast about his products and compare to ah boy but he worst fact is that... no coolant, no erp meter, rpm and seedo not working, 4T empty, 2 T drying up, signal light cannot blink. Nothing on the bike is good except for the nice design and colour and after u go back to the shop to repair as there is warranty, u wait for 5 hours b4 its ur turn, so to all new riders pls take care!!

Hey Bro,

Better be careful before buying from Southern. Check and make sure what they say about the price is correct, dont later come out all the hidden costs. Buy new bike from them is OK, but check through the prices. Then servicing, go somewhere more reliable cos Southern mechanics except for the old guy is lousy. Lastly, dont kena screwed by the ACP(Advance Care package) package they are selling, when you accident, get a lot of nonsense to claim and you can see second hand parts on your bike. This from a frens experience.Better take first party.

firstly, southern and new southern are the same. basically, 1 is the showroom and 1 is the workshop.

totally agree that you need to 'force' them to give you a breakdown of the charges. They tend to punch in the calculator and expect you to trust them with the final number they get from the machine. Make sure you get the breakdown and think about it over at home before commiting, never in a hurry to buy a bike. I got an unpleasant experience with them. Cannot blame them fully though, i did not insist on the above mentioned.

some observation and experince with their mech. (a)Their mech work in a hurry and always with a cigaratte in hand while removing your fuel tank (nearly got a heart attack when I saw this). (b) the workshop is very dark, wonder how they managed to avoid missing out the small parts. © true enough, when they changed my chain and sprocket, they did not tighten the 'securing nut' into the chain properly, end up my bike has this unpleasant screecing sound while riding. worst, I have to be the one finding out where is the problem and prove to the mech where is the problem (dunno who is the customer).

with the above experience, i never go back to them for service anymore. No confidence vote.

Now i go to my favourite mech in midview(BB), not the cheapest but good job done in a well lit open environment while you wait seated with a cup of coffee.

been with the chap since he was in telok blangah, then he shifted to sin ming and now bukit merah.

Good pricing overall, and best is his operational hours... Bugger open at 12pm and all the way till 10, sometimes thru midnite.

Sometime slow turnaround time for repairs becos of lack of parts in stocks.

Good work with 2 stroke bikes. And one of the few shops carrying maxima stuffs.

i believe in paying more for a good mech. to keep him around cos u will need him in time to come...

It's actually quite amusing to read the comments on the motordiams in here. Most pple must kerna bad experience big time, otherwise wouldn't sound so bitter.

I know how it is when you walk into a shop and they look at you if you can't actually afford. Damn! feels like walking into a branded boutique. Even if you can afford it, the attitude just make you turn your heels.

If any 'blacklisted' motordiam lau ban is reading all this, they should look at it constructively and improve their service rather than getting upset at pple bad-mouthing them.

Hehe....just my thoughts...I get very pissed off with bad service and in turn I just gotta pissed them back...hehe

:shades:

agree...Hua Chin is good overall, but best leave the tunings to the experts...

Any one been to Aik Leong Motors at Jurong East? Heard from my fren that he had the worst experience of his biking life there. Below is what he wrote:

I have been a victim of a totally unjust motorbike service incidence. I believe every rider has their own bad experience but the one I had was appalling and no rider should ever received these kind of barbaric treatment.

On 07-08-2004 at 10am, I was riding to work when I found out that my chain was loose, I went to AIK LEONG MOTOR CO at BLK 350 JURONG EAST AVE 1 #01-1227(600350) to get it tighten, a very simple procedure. I paid two dollars for it (shops usually would not charge for this but I let it pass) and rode off.

I found out later in the afternoon that the mechanic tighten the chain too tightly. When I went back to the shop, I found out much to my displeasure that the mechanic has adjusted the chain so tightly that it has spoilt my chain and my chain gears.

I complained to the boss about the shabby work, the boss retorted rudely," I just did your chain for two dollars, too bad if its spoilt, that is not my business." he totally refused to take any responsibility about his shop's work. He further added," So what if you are the customer, you cannot do anything to me!!"

I was very angry and told him off that he should at least apologise for the lousy work, he pushed me away rudely that I nearly fell and shouted at me to get out of the shop!!!!!

The boss of Aik Leong dare to carry out such barbaric ways because he thinks that I could not do anything to him, and other riders will continue to patronise his shop.

Learn from my sour mistake,

don't go to AIK LEONG MOTOR @ JURONG EAST

I hope those who have been there share their experience as I do not want to ostracize this shop because of what he did to my fren. If others feel that this is a 'black' shop den I fully support blackmarking them.

very bad attitude from the boss..

i had a bad experience also..went into the shop ask for the price of new phantom..den he say phantom no longer production..den trying to cheap me n ask me buy TA150 (FS plate).quoted me $2.9K..guess wat?i juz walked out of the shop..

Think before you speed, cameras are all over the place now

I dun really agree with this, i mean yes they do reserve the right to maintain only the bike bought from them but if i can get a better deal outside, why not?

From your words say like only can buy from them than go there service, then my friend wanna sell me his bike, i buy from him then let him service isit?

By the way? Wat bike did Meng Tong service and build for any Pasir Gundang Race? If Extreme motors or Excel Motors build and service bikes for Race and won it, then you mean they really good lah.

You support your mechanic is like everyone supporting their own mechanic. They treat you good doesn't mean that they treat everyone equally right..

Juz my 0.2cents.

:nono:

what ever it is pls try not to put so much name inside cos it might cause unnecessary problem.

by the way as far as concern loois motor is ok for me but of cos there might be even better one around.depend on the rider itself...some might like the bike shop that u dun like..

its ok to service your bike anywhere as long as the rider is happy...

but for the last comment you have make saying something like meng tong build what bike n win what race...

well have you ever thought that it might be the rider n not the machine...so far maybe we should do some voting to see how many tua gua goes which shop to do services & compare the prices rather the say this bike shop f*** n that man s****

not too nice to put the person name la...

my 1 cent comment no hard feeling...

Motorcycle

How happy are you overall? not really

What makes this shop commendable?

i bought my bike that was extremely expensive compared to average market price of same model, lousy paint job, changed my stock pipe to a cheaper illegal mod, gave me half past six screws with paint flakes still on them (color did not even match my fairing), changed the stock visor to bubble (i didn't request for that), license plate was scratched on day of collection, etc....

after getting fuked by a fellow rider for not highlighting these discrepancies, went back to the shop only to be replied with a "its like that one what" and absolute reluctance to correct the errors. after much hoohaa did they decide to correct SOME errors.

getting conned is bad enough. getting conned and not even getting stock parts + service attitude change after payment = omgwtf

That shop is totally screwed up man, cannot make it

Been there for a while to service up some stuffs, then realised that they were try to CHOP me.

Bikes are expensive

Parts are expensive

and yes, the boss's attitude is horrible.

And i swear i saw the mechanic letting the engine oil run into the drain cos they use the alley behind the shop for their excuse of a workplace when the pathetic small whim of space inside their shop is used up (only can fit 1 bike )

Money should never change one's values.Making money is only a report card. It's a way to tell others how you are doing
