Laid up bike(need help)

Remember these points when your bike is laid up. LTA requires that you:

 

1. Leave your bike parked at that place of address, which is also as stated on the lay-up form (your signature should have been placed there as well)

 

2. If you are intending to move your bike out from that address, whether it's to haul it over to a bikeshop, LTA has to be informed.

 

3. Riding the bike while it's being laid-up is the same as riding without valid road-tax and inspection certificate. Penalties apply once caught.

HDB Parking does not fall under the jurisdiction of LTA (and their lay-up rules). So you settle your parking problems yourself loh...

btw what's the easiest way to unlaid bike? if u dun haf bike? gotta go inspection, go lta unlaid, den go back to ur bike den ride off.. alot hassle..??

Get tow truck pick up bike, tow to inspection, tow back to your parking lot lor? very difficult meh?

Suggestion:

 

Find someone / a friend who drives a utility van (e.g. Renault Kangoo) to haul the bike to the inspection centre and back.

Nobody will know if they really come and check, but I'm sure you've seen ROV going into hdb estates. Makes you wonder why they are there. I've seen a number of times.

 

Riding a laidup bike penalty should equal or worst than being caught riding a bike without valid insurance and road tax.

Court case. Fine ard $800 or more. License (all classes), very good chance will be suspended or revoked for 1yr or more.

 

If no driving lic, then will be banned from all classes for 1 yr or more.

 

dun play play. this is very serious offence.

I have ask someone from NTUC insurance, we cant purchase any insurance for lay up bike. The bike suppose to be in private property. We can purchase but at the same price as those travelling on the road
