i bet no one have experienced what i had just now! was along that sharp and downhill bend from Clementi ave 6>PIE(changi airport). normally, i would take on that corner at around 60-70 but just now, i was feeling lazy and take that corner at around 40-50. that is my biggest turning point cos as i was along the apex of the bend on the outer lane, a malaysian cub was happily cornering and overtaking into my lane. but before he could overtake me, he corner too low and self skidded less than a few metres in front of me!!:eek::eek:

in my mind, the brain awoke from its sleeping mode and figured out the best way to come out of this mess alive as the skidding and sparking cub is getting closer to me. so, i just slowly press on the front brake and corner lower and then just e-brake to the innermost of the inner lane. for this, i gotta thank my riding skills learnt through mac delivery!! if not for that, i would have surely lost my cool and jam brake resulting in self skid also. cos just now, my bike got slid out a bit cos of the wet tarmac and not so grippy tyres. that's how close i was to getting myself in a hospital.

gosh! that scares the hell out of me!! i just saw the kupchai cornering out of the lane. and next thing is he fell right in front of me. and i press on my brakes and i saw him skidded all the way, hitting the curb. all under less than 2 secs. and then, i parked my bike aside to render assistance to him. even though i wanna fcuk him upside for scaring me and endangering my life, he seems so much in pain for me to do that. i ended up assisting him get his bike out of other people's way. cos still got some idiot cars who think that bend is a part of a race course.

Any bike that falls in front of you in a corner will skid towards the outer path/lane of the corner. So close throttle and go into (tighten your line) the corner. Hopefully he won't bounce off the curb and back into you.

Well, that's my instinct anyway. I've also had a bike fall in front of me in a corner a few years back. I managed to keep my head and close the throttle and tighten the line in.

Honestly, there's not much you can do but move away and hope that he doesn't pinball into your path or bike.

Hahaha! I did that before too! And I was Driving!

A few days ago, I saw NOT 1, NOT 2 but 3 drivers using handphone in 1 day!

Each time I give them a finger. (index finger only, I also Teacher you know!)

It's the type where you did something wrong when you were small, and them your friends see liao go and say "Hoooorrr!!! Die!!!!"

1st one was a pretty young lady in a blue hyudai chatting happily, I just had to burst her bubble!

She looked so shocked when I waved my finger at her, but she's so cute!

2nd was a chinese guy in his 30's SMSing at a red light, SMS until everyone moved off he still there, then kena horned.

3rd was an Indian man in his late 30's driving a Mercedes, must be from 1 of the condoms units near my school.

This guy is the Champ. Got green arrow wait until green arrow almost finished then cross, I follow behind, nevermind, maybe the guy borrow new car, not familiar, then he Lane Split! on dotted line taking up both lanes. Then a red Toyota who also wanted to overtake horned him loud loud, and he siam to the left, so I follow the Red Toyota, as I passed the guy, I just had to check if he was using HP sure enough he was!

One thing I noticed was each time I gave the finger, the drivers like become Hum Ji will quickly slow down and hide behind another car, like scared I can see them.

Dare to open mouth, don't dare to let people see!

Never put on hard gay suit? change special horn to hard gay tune, den everytime u see, horn and point! "Deh Deh, DehDehDeh, Deh Dehhhh!"

Haha. That's what you will encounter in sg road everyday. I'm working as an outdoor engineer and have to ride on the road everyday. Roads in SG are like see who can survive the longest.. REally really careful. If you think normal roads are fierce, try PIE, CIE during peak and also jalan besar(outside simlim square) / orchand. Nice..

By a certain time in your ride. You will build up a gut feeling already. means you will feel that a driver anytime going to cut into your lane feeling. Haha.. That's what saved me a few times before.. But of cuz, this comes with road experience..

twice, my frens offer me a ride back home from nus, both sweatz big time and never offer me the ride again, coz they had to go through the msia kup prix til wdl ave 3.:faint:

There will be big vehicles trying to cut through traffic maciam they are bike, and maybe 5-6 bikes in 1 lane, all trying to overtake everyone at the same time! :faint:

ok la, exagerating, only festive season den like that, normal peak hours oni half the prowess. :cheeky:

Horned 2 toyotas yesterday night..

these 2 cars drove at night without their headlights..

1 uncle gave me a "sorry" signa nd on his headlight..

the other auntie gave me the WTF look...

toyotas seems to have these problem.. cuz their speedo dial will be lighted even during the day.. and SG roads are so bright that OEM headlights sometimes cant be noticed..

but they are very dangerous on expressways as only can see their rear reflectors at night..

Just fagged one mitsubishi driver along sims ave. towards PIE KPE. Farker just change lane without signal and very sudden. Luckily i expected and didnt ride fast. Horn him 3 times from behind then he still jam. Go to his window see his fagged face and point to him to see where the fagg he is going next time.

:thumb: prob saved someone's life for doing that!:thumb:

Saw a very bad accident, around 2200 hours. Road from Changi Village towards TPE/PIE, just before the right bend.

Car was wrapped around a tree, bent into half almost 90degrees. Left side of car hit the tree, and the tree trunk ended up where the driver seat should be. 20metre tall flames burnt for around 15 minutes, put out quickly by firefighters when they arrived.

Road is straight, two lanes. I don't want to speculate whatever caused this accident; its a horrifying sight. My girlfriend was close to tears as we passed the wreckage.

sadz.. take it easy ma...

:thumb: another lesson learnt!

malaysian kups are pretty hardcore riders and pretty reckless (might be understated to some). definitely much more gutsy and you can see it in the way they zip thru traffic and scrapping thru e smallest of gaps. they got this habit of stopping v close to you as well. some others ride bikes with exhaust or parts almost falling off and i would always try to avoid them as much as possible just in case anything flies towards me or like in your case fall down close to me.

its really dangerous for bikes not to have their headlights on cos it's hard to see esp at nite. freaks me cos suddenly some joker would peh peh peh and overtake you from nowhere.

pretty? well, i ain't see no pretty msia kup riders yet, but they sure are siao!!! psychotic riders!

I think if they can, they will want to ride on air and overtake u from top! :faint::lol:

:thumb: another lesson learnt!

2 lessons in fact. :D

One was on the road. But he was 3 car lengths ahead, so I had reaction time. I would think that if he had been directly in front of me, I would have also hit the brakes in reflex and skidded together with him.

2nd incident was at PG turn 3. A Super4 highsided directly in front of me in that tight left hander. I saw him there one moment, next moment he was in the air, landed hard, and then skidded outwards of the corner with bits and pieces all over the place. I closed the throttle and tightened my line. Parked my bike off the track, and ran back to warn the oncoming riders and help the fallen.

some bad habits of ppl leaving their keys on their bikes.

not the 1st time. have wrapped up keys n place in-between meter of S4 n some other bikes.

thieves can easily take it for a joy-ride or strip it down n sell the parts... :sian:

For the victim's sake, I really don't think they burnt to death.

The impact is so great the taillights popped out. How many Gs of force are needed to bend a car like that?

Honestly, there's not much you can do but move away and hope that he doesn't pinball into your path or bike.

yeah... i wasn't sure to cut him through right or left. if go by left, i must be fast enough to overtake the skidding bike. if go by right, i must hope there's no bounce back or left over metal pieces to send me tumbling. and it's a tight 2 lane road merging into 1!:slapforehead: tough decision there! and yeah.. i did as what you say. close throttle and tighten my line all the way to the apex. but i did use my front brake to outbrake the skidding bike. cos the skidding bike decelerates quite fast eh! something new that i learn.

and as i go further towards the apex, all i see is the bike spinning and the sparks really blinded me to where exactly the bike was. and the sparks were getting bigger and that's how i know i was getting less than 2m away from the bike! and gosh! i miss the fallen bike by less than half a lane. i really can't believe my luck!

:thumb: but bro, if ur tires "not-so-grippy", maybe dun take that corner at 60-70 la huh?

that's why i say normally! haha... cos now, almost worn out so must relax a bit on the tyres. gonna try and buy the Michelin tyres at JB. 100/80 for RM135. cheap?

Never use cheap brake pads or cheap tyres. Most people normally don't give them much of a thought... but when the situation crops up whereby the effectiveness of these 2 items are called upon to work... failure is not an option.

got such thing as cheap brake pad eh? cos i normally just change at my shop and paid $23 for brake pad and $25 for rear brake drum. sorry la, me noob rider. wonder if that's cheap or what. as for tyres, battlax is the best for me but it's painful to be changing the rear every 2-3 mths. need to find alternatives.

2 ~ 3 mths? Wow you must be racing? Cos usually tires for daily use and occational wacking and cornering should last about 9mths ~ 1 yr.

$23 for a brake pad is considered ok.. Not bad.

yesterday while doing deliveries...

some red sports car, really CMI. drive on center of two lanes, thinking he's a bike. all the way i ride behind the car coz it was a 2 lane road and i dontknow what he's going to do next. then after the stretch of road, the center divider and kerb was replaced by double white line. guess what he did? he drove OVER the double white line. wth man~ kept to leftmost lane, ride past him. the sooner i get rid of him the better. the windows very dark tint, so cant see if that joker is using a hp.

but seriously, WTH ?!:sian:

then on the way home, took taxi home ah. taxi driver darn steady, drive on lane one at 70km/h. luckily at 1am, not much cars. if kena peak hour surely kena horn like no one's business.

don't say cars. bike even worse. never own headlight never mind. yesterday got one still dare to speed and overtake so close to me. even though i always check my mirror, the only time i know that bike is nearby is by its sound and not through the mirror. night is when the speed of light is slower than the speed of sound.

shouldn't the speed of light be faster den anything in the world? *blurs*

wah, not normal, u nv go track somemoreo_O

if like tat i also need to change liao lor, mine already 5000km:sian:

mine still can tahan another 5000-8000km leh

gosh! how come mine like as if got something wrong? i think i need to change my style. perhaps should press brake slowly slowly. then when moving off, move off super slowly. then can ease off on the friction a bit eh..

can anyone help me with this?? maybe my bike's setting is a bit off or something. or tyre pressure is too high? lol...

shouldn't the speed of light be faster den anything in the world? *blurs*

no offence. but i find it weird. o.O

yeah. that's true. but when you look into the mirror and by the time you reach your reaction time, the bike would have overtook you. normal human reaction time is about 0.2s and including the time you need to turn your head to check your mirror, i'm sure you will hear him before you see him especially when your eyes need to focus hard on the bike that has no lights to help you to focus on. and that's precisely why i like to check my mirror every 5 secs or so and check my blindspots every time my circle radius of 5m is violated. just my personal preference to know what's happening around me all the time.

To put it in perspective.... top of the line brake pads can cost as much $180 per set.

wah!! so good!! can last 5 years or not?

 i think wat he meant is e biker din on light, so end up hear him b4 see him.

otherwise, speed of light is fastest by einstein's theory. dou we never noe, in order to teleport, that theory has to be broken. :offtopic:

haha... yeah.. but amazing! i really thought that speed of light is slower than speed of sound during that moment! like one time, i saw in a far distant along the expressway, i saw a white and small figure floating along the expressway. i sped after it, and to my relief, it's a biker wearing white clothing but with no lights or whatsoever to warn me about him. almost scare me to death. cos i was wondering on why would a ghost float along traffic flow on an expressway.

Today after leaving my friend's birthday party at Dairy Farm Estate, I went onto the wrong side of PIE and almost ended up at Tuas when I wanted to go to Newton.

My internal GPS totally koyak man.
