there is defensive riding on weekend. i took mine on a saturday.

 

anyway you can form a group of 5-7 ppl, go register and choose a date or give them their name and they will consolidate the names until the class is full, then they will inform you.

 

for the info, will check them out.

 

Ride like a kitten and the drivers will treat you as invisible. When they start to makan you on the road, you are relying on them not to make a mistake and send you flying.

 

actually, i feel that other motorists tend to treat a rider according to how he rides, like how deus will ride "aggressively" amongst MY riders simply coz "they can take it".

 

i've seen many cars tailgating a biker lanesplitting at high speed, yet the same exact drivers do not tailgate me when im on middle of lane 1, keeping a safe distance to the car in front of me, riding guai guai-ly.

 

the thing abt riding too aggressively is that, if u ever meet an equally aggressive driver behind a much more powerful car...

 

but of course, there are safety aspects amongst the 2 school of thoughts and i suppose a balance will help riders in both ways.

 

Today I rode without an IU unit through an active ERP gantry along CTE.

 

Looks like I got to set aside $70 to fatten up LTA's wallet.

well being a kitten and avoiding dangers even though its not my fault works fine for me. i realize everytime i try to drive or ride aggressively i tend to become over confident and slightly reckless. being a pushover on the roads seems like a better idea to avoid accidents but i stress the importance of remaining decisive. well thats just me. no accidents in 5 years since i adopt this style, prior to that had 3 accidents in my first year alone.

 

maybe if the term is "riding like a cat", it will be better received? reflex as quick as cat!

was going upslope at hillview roundabout there. luckily didnt go fast cos while going downslope, this idiotic lexus p-plate lady driver was doing an illegal u-turn on the slope! it was a double white line road and i had to jam brake. she could have went down the slope a make a u-turn at the roundabout... dumba$$...

sometime ago I saw, well kind of amazing "feat" by our neighbor. Two malaysia CUB rider with pillion behind, they rode side by side and chit chat along the way. Clearly that the rider attention wasn't on the road, I was like so freaking dangerous... but at times I wonder if its their confidence or something. God bless.

Kana stop by tp few days back for speeding at aye towards jurong. He saw my aftermarket exhaust n asked for the cert. I told him don hv loh n initially he wanted to bring me for inspection. Then he gave me a chance by just charging me for speeding but told me to change back to oem exhaust b4 i kana caught again. Sian... If never speed, don think they will stop u loh. Just my day

today while riding, omg, wat the heck man? it's like all the cars in sg assembled in Orchard road, funking hell, jam until my cub also cannot split...

 

but still an enjoyable ride!

today while riding. was sending my gf home via cte at ard 10.45pm. traffic was heavy so had to lane split between lane 1 and 2. was following behind this kup with a pillion also so i slowed down so as not to pressure them. speed was ard 60km/h

 

then this cheesepie fugger on a FY plate steed came along, dunno wad the fug is he thinking and lane splitted between us. i already saw him coming and was already trying to find a spot to give way but this @rse couldnt wait. forced me to evade and almost crash into the car on my left. the kup in front got a rude shocked too as the steed was forcing him out of the white line and into another car.

 

super pissed, dropped 2 gears and blow trottle to show i am not pleased. fugger steed tried to pull away but i am already on his tail. theres no way a 2A cruiser can outrun a cls 2 sports bike.

 

initially wanna chase him all the way and ask wads his problem, but gave 2nd thoughts cos my gf is behind me, dun wanna endanger her life. llst take it all in, just stay behind him and high beam him all the way and exit at braddell. think the guy have a death wish cos he was cutting in and out of traffic without a care for other road users.

today i also lanesplitting and had one class 2 bike behind me, then suddenly he also lane split me between 2 cars. wah piang such riders always give me heart attack. So impatient. a bit angry but what to do? tolong.... pls dun sabo me when im riding. wanna do stunts around me pls do so when im driving so i wont DIE!!!!

screamed a few times coz friend was lane splitting , and i am still phobia of braking from high speeds . but he as a seasoned rider , could obviously slow down / stop in time . then nearly crashed into a car who suddenly swerved out coz another car broke down at the right most side of the lane opposite mah motor that side , but the broken down vehicle didnt have any hazard lights to warn people of the car being broken down .

yes i do admit that i do have to reflect on the way i'm riding. honestly after the first incident , i didn't lane split much unless i really needed to, and usually i'll be lane splitting behind another bike . though prior to that 1st incident , a friend happened to be riding behind me was telling me that i should ease off on that throttle when lane splitting since i'm a new rider and not yet used to anticipating what drivers may do .

 

my braking techniques still have a long way to go to master it. and i have the tendency of pulling the clutch , though not totally , in traffic jams .

 

i'm lucky to escape from these incidents unscathed , otherwise i could have been easily run over . its not just human error , machinery fault may also contribute to unwanted incidents . hope that from here on , we can gradually discuss on hw we ride and th techniques we should adopt . and may it be a learning point to others new or old riders all around .

a friend happened to be riding behind me was telling me that i should ease off on that throttle when lane splitting since i'm a new rider and not yet used to anticipating what drivers may do .

today while riding to expo. kanna knock down by a car door 5 meters away from expo carpark

 

expo having the usual carpark closure for cars due to overcrowding of the carpark and setup a barrier in front of the carpark. came in slowly and notice 2 cars with left signal on, most probably waiting for carpark to open, or moving off to find another carpark. there's a hug gap on the left so i squeeze in and proceed to head into the carpark. was just rolling at ard 5-10km/h when suddenly the back passenger door the the 2nd car open, sui sui kiap between my trottle and brake lever. try to support all the way but due to my gf's weight, i cannot tahan and let go of the bike.

 

gf suffered minor scratches on her arm and bike's left faring is badly scratched, left mirror also suffered cos dropped directly onto the kerb.

 

managed to get contact from the passenger who agreed to pay for the damages.

Realise that the vehicle far right in front of me has clear the road, pondering why the black car right at the front not moving. Wait a while, find it fishy so try horn at the vehicle my action doesn't help at all. Signal right, filter out and overtake the vehicle. Took a glance at the black vehicle, OMG the lady eyes shut and rest against the seat.

if u alone sure can smoke him faraway, but maybe he din mean it (REALLY in a big hurry) and also, i personally feel that the way to deal with reckless motorcyclists shd be the same as the way to deal with reckless drivers - siam them far away.

Today while coming home, saw one guy in a white car, at the traffic junction yaking away on HP. (It's the norm nowadays)

 

Right hand holding HP, left hand gesturing wildly.

Now you may be saying at a stop no issue, but when the car infront started moving, this guy still gesturing (don't know gesturing for who to see also) used his left hand to adjust air con while his car accelerated. So in effect driving with no hands... ...

rushing for time also no need to lane split a lane splitter mah. as if the gap is not small enough liao. and forcing 2 bikes off their lanes is not the way
