i AM NOT A RACIST and I dont wish to create xenophobic reaction from fellow forumer. but i cant take it anymore. last night was riding home at 9pm at aye about 2km from clementi ave 6 exit, i was riding my bike behind a very slow lorry. i dont mind because i was riding 80km/hr anyway. dark you know. wonder why this lorry is so slow. decided to overtake him after following almost 3km. saw him fiddling something at his left hand and looking down on his left hand side. why , why i always see this group of foreign drivers doing all this ???? i know , i know. our own fellow singaporean are doing it too but dont these guys know their jobs are so fragile that if the get caught, out they go

You wan cheap I sell u my keychain cam. $5. Lol. U wan then I check if it's working still.

Next level of cheap u can check websites like dx.com, deals and all those online shops and browse for anything suitable.

Next level would be my old cam type rd32ii which is around 130.

But again I strongly advise to make sure you get something with replaceable battery. Very very important.

Most of the better action cam comes with firmware that helps with movement, jerky, shaking and stuff like that.

For old Nokia, I doubt so. I think most point and shoot cam won't be able to handle the amount of vibration on a bike.

Thanks for the wonderful info my friend,

Naw, I would not want to take your keychain cam for $5 if it ain't even working at all.

Incidently, I got a friend whom tagged me via facebook today for a SJ-1000 Full HD Sports action camera.

The price is really a steal I got to say as it's below SGD$100

I have not test it out yet, but I am going to pick it up this afternoon.

They even sell extra battery for less than SGD$10

But I have done some search from the web about SJ-1000 and not too bad really.

Cheers!

Any recommendations? For a value(cheap) for price and decent cam. Below 100 hopefully haha.

I am not sure if this is decent or not. But the price is sure below SGD$100.

And I am gonna get it myself :-)

Google and search for SJ-1000 and judge yourself.

Hi gwzc_mk2, I googled and I saw ebay selling at AUD$129.99 and it mentioned battery life is 130minutes continous recording.

But we all know these are not the facts as it's just marketing stregedy.

Hard to comment on the battery life really. But the best of all is the seller is a local biker and I think user could approach him/her for feedback if the bettery run out of juice in less than 30 mins.

Well, I am not fussy anyway for a below $100 gadgets. I am happy with my daily to/fro work ride. and weekend offroad recording is optional.

Hopefully I can review this item and provide feedback, but I will be travelling in 1 week time :-(

Cheers!

Did he horn you back at the end? Hahaha i thought i heard him horn you back.

Lately a lot of these type of drivers. Only thing we can do is to be more alert and ride defensively.

But i did notice that from the positioning, you could have been in his blindspot as well. But it's not a good defence since he is supposed to check too.

RIDE.

tdy while riding home from sch at upper bukit timah road opposite salvation army, car just stopped in the middle of the 3 lane road w/o turning on hazard lights. After few cars lane change, driver of the stopped car then engage reverse gear and started reversing slowly. Went pass him and saw him talking to the passenger behind while in the midst of reversing.

After that i turn left at the junction infront. Was following behind a taxi aft turning and driver kept braking, dunno whether to turn left, go straight or do an illegal u-turn. Press my horn twice but driver still dunno wanna go where and slowly turn left but move back to the main road.

Nope that is not blind spot. Bike is well in the sight of the driver. At the speed driver is gg, I dont see why he needs to do lane change. My bet is the driver on handphone or doing something. Thus not focus

thinking of getting a cheap camera for rear view :D

I have opened the SJ-1000 cam today while going home.

after dinner plug onto the car and went to pick up somebody.

Am new to these cam stuff and the quality was quite okay and I am happy with what I have paid for. The best part is that it come with so many pattern of mounting and for your creative to mount to whatever you want to mount.

I googled and found techmoan, whom does cam review.

Lets take a look at what he got to say

and here http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/6/9/sj1000-at-lasta-good-cheap-action-camera.html

Overall again, I am happy with the price for what I have paid for. Will try it out mounting to my bike tomorrow and wee.... can record some Today while riding....

edited... I have managed to download a software to edit video. (my first time )

Take note this is the first time I am using a video cam and my mounting skill sulk and the holder is rattling like a machine gun. I will try to do a proper video next time I promise.

Cheers!

Stop hanging in their blindspot, why do some riders like to ride like driving cars?

Posted

Jehuty, the video shows the driver is the one hanging to the rider. the rider was in front first and then driver must have seen there is a motorcycle. he must be conscious about a motor whom he was overtaking previously and then check back and not rely on his mirror alone to see if anyone on the left hand side

Posted

Why must overtake the car??. if supposedly the bike is small , no power to overtake, the bike is right because he is using the slower lane. its the driver who most probably didnt check his blind spot and just enter the front of the bike. driver should speed up a bit more and then overtake

Not too bad. For the price I guess it was worth it. :thumb:

altho the rider has no fault but he didnt practice defensive riding. If I were in the same situation i would have overtake the car.
Easier said than done. The bike he was riding might not have enough juice to do so or perhaps he was just keeping a safe distance with the vehicle in front or perhaps he wants to just relaxedly cruise to get to his destination. Not everyone likes to rush to get to their destinations you know?

well i said he has no fault but if u ride on sg road u will know even if cars see you they will cut into you. it is not wise to stay near, just my opinion, but if the traffic is heavy then no choice. u choose your style of riding, if ride like that sure cars will cut and even force you to the road shoulder.
