I know of riders that would do the same. Some would even go to the extreme of breaking the car's side mirror. But that was before the existence of the in-built vehicle cameras. I too dislike these drivers. Especially those who act big just because they are protected by a metal cage.

I won't do so extreme. Usually if the driver apologise, i will let it go. But this particular woman driver, damn stuck up face, and listening to earphones somemore, never signal, never check blindspot, nearly sideswiped me in rainy weather, don't apologise, and still want to speed. So.... i incredible hulked lor... >.

RIDE.

no need break mirror so serious ba.. just slow down in front of her and 'show' her how to drive slow and steady and proper lor.

Wanna break mirror should break when she was swerving in your lane.

Practical Test Checklist:

√ Sudden and late braking

√ Faulty signal lights

√ Superb use of horn

√ Assume road belongs to father

√ Never at fault no matter what happens

√ Tailgating confidence

Result: YES! You qualify to become a Singapore car driver!

Ytd while riding home from Toa Payoh, I was approaching a traffic junction and the lights had just turned red. I was the 1st vehicle stopping in the middle of the lane (did not lane-split to the front), lorry on my right and there was no car behind me. While waiting for the lights to turn green, I glanced at my mirror and saw a woman's face but couldnt see the headlights of the car, plus the car is black in colour.

So I turned to look behind and got a shock. Bloody lady driver almost rear-ended me. From my angle, the front of her car was just few cm away from my left pillion footrest.

My friend stopped behind the car and was curious why the car stopped so close behind me. He lane-split to the front and stop on my left. He got a shock as to how close the car was to my bike. From his angle, he told me that the front of the car was just beside my sprocket. I then looked at the driver, looked at the distance between her car and my bike, looked back at the driver again and she wave her hand to apologise.

Went home to check if my Gopro managed to capture how close the car was but it hanged while recording and the video was not stored on the memory card.

And thats why you should always stop to the side of the lane especially when you're first in line. Don't have to be like lane split exactly in the middle but move to the edge of the lane so if cars cannot stop in time they can still avoid you. If you plonk yourself right in the middle theres no way they can avoid you.

True. However when we do that they will complain that we do not know how to stop in a proper manner. Actually we do so for safety. :o

Used the horn alot today. Horned at a driver who seems to either be very sleepy or just indecisive being in between left lane and middle lane when the entire road was pretty much empty. Then a taxi exiting out of carpark. A p-plate driver who turns out of a filter lane and turned straight into the first lane where I was travelling. Still can give the 'what did I do wrong' look when I turned to look at him. A lorry straddling between lane 1 and 2 but still did so after I horned. And a taxi at a pedestrian crossing with hazard lights on. The light was green for vehicles to go and was at a one lane road so pretty much other cars were obstructed. Seems like the passenger suddenly decided to alight at that spot I guess. :sly:

Went out last night to top up petrol so will not need to do so when I need to go to work. Was waiting to exit out of petrol kiosk and saw a taxi approaching so I stopped. Then it started flashing the lights. Its good that the driver is making his presence known for safety. But what I do not understand is why he never switched on the headlights at all when its already dark.

Last Saturday, i was on my way to Hougang from Sembawang. After the right turn into Lentor, i was on lane 2 cruising, when suddenly this red Honda Fit from my left just cut in without signal and nearly sideswiped me. I could have touched the driver's window if i stretched out my hand. Heng i always leave at least one lane on my side empty so if i need to swerve, i won't be hitting another car.

I immediately swerved to the empty lane 1 and blast my horn. The driver just continue to cut in, then sped up to about 80+kmph on a 70kmph road. As i was very angry, i caught up to beside the driver to take a look. It was a maybe 30+yr old woman in yoga attire, and listening to music, 2 earphones in ears. She act blur dun dare to look at me, and even lifted her chin in a very proud manner.

At this point, i raged and so i accelerated and overtook her, went in front of her, and travelled at 60kmph. It's not roadhogging, cos it's a 70kmph road, and lane 1 is empty. She then flashed headlights at me, and filtered to lane 3 without signalling. As i saw her start to filter, i signalled left, and filtered into lane 3 ahead of her, and continued cruising at 60kmph.

Maybe some of you will condemn my actions. But i hate this type of stupid act atas inconsiderate drivers. Nearly cause accident, the least u can do is to apologise. Incidents like this make me regret selling my gopro...

At minimum, I would have overtook her and flipped the birdie, at most I'd 'accidently' break her mirrors and speed off. Could follow her and blast the horn all the way but that's a waste of battery.

Lucky her.

Was driving my father's car just now, wet weather at corporation road near jurong jc just exited pie, stopped my car at right turn junction to prepare to turn to boon lay ave, but happened to stopped abit to the left side of the first lane lane, as i was not able to see the right side of my mirror clearly due to fogs clogging up and was afraid i'd grind the divider/kerb.

Some Rover was trying to go straight at the 2nd lane but vehicle was apparently too fat for his driving skill to bypass as last lane/3rd lane was occupied by another big slow moving bus as well at less than 10km/h, tho there was actually quite a gap for him. Horned at me twice (PONG, PONG), and i tilted my car to the right a lil more to spare the noob driver some more spaces. He overtook me, stopped for a sec, opened his window and show me his fat middle finger which couldnt even stand up straight. (looks like a fat thick c shape to me), then stomped on his accelerator and drive away quickly lol.

car plate no. SKU9453 (forgot last aphlabert).

Yesterday went to watch movie with my gf at Cine. Witnessed an accident that made me laugh. The road Heeren there heading to centerpoint is 4-lane road. This SMRT taxi turning right from H&M (single-lane) towards centerpoint stretch one shot turn 3 lanes, bang right into another Comfort taxi from opposing traffic (2-lane turn left, with marking on floor showing turn into lane 3 and 4) making left turn into lane 3 lane.

Comfort cab was totally in NO wrong at all, as he was following road markings. Whereas SMRT cabbie should have turn into lane 1, or at most, lane 2.

The SMRT driver still had the cheek to come out and point finger at the comfort taxi driver and scold him. Faith in Singaporean drivers lost.

RIDE.

Why am I not surprised? Taxi drivers will say the most ridiculous excuse just to push the blame to others in an accident.

Never take riding in the wee hours for granted

Lorry Sudden U-turn
Sadly those drivers driving a bigger vehicle have the mindset that as long as they will not get hurt does not care about others' safety.

I would like to buy a cam to be mounted to the bike and take some vids too. Any recommendation? The camera mounts prone to theft?

A while back I was at just before geylang serai when a comfort cab just swerve from one lane to right in front of me in with about 1-2 meter plus of space and just stopped to see what the shop is selling. I braked so hard the front wheel hopped. and had to tilt the handle at the last minute to prevent hitting his bumper. A red car behind me swerved out to avoid me.

I passed by the cab and he looked straight and was expecting me to scold him or made some gestures but I didn't. The red car actually stopped near the front of the taxi waiting for a confrontation from me which I am sure he would help me. It was that bad but I just rode off. After that I think I needed a cam.

There are many available. Really depends on what type you wan and budget. I'm using drift HD 1080 which cost around 260+.

The mounts I think becoming too common now a days thus not much worth for stealing?

You may try this Sports HD DV SJ1000 cam. It costs about $100. It is water resistant 30m under water with a transparent cover. I have been using it on my bike and it comes with multiple mounts for cars, clip on for jogging, motorcycle mounts for handle bars and helmets too. The video is very clear. It is a 1 year warranty. Can get it from JML synerGIZ in Macpherson Road.
