Now after check box at woodlands checkpoint, must go through 'bumpy course'.

Thanks ica, for helping me relieve my class 2a/2 memories at the driving centre. Perfect solution to prevent carelessness and slipshod work.

Went over those yesterday, quite entertaining I'd have to say. Now driving centre instructors can say the bumpy course has a real-life application. It will allow you to get back into Singapore. Heh.

On a more serious note though. It's a pretty terrible idea. Not wishing anyone ill luck, but sooner or later people are gonna wobble on those things or loose control and bump into fellow riders. Then there'll be a rise in incidents there. They think that we're cars, didn't take balance and control into consideration.

The person who thought this will be getting his extra bonus this year for such an excellent idea. OBVIOUSLY NOT A RIDER

Lol. Did you get into half-standing position, throttle, clutch in, throttle, clutch in.. Was that the sequence? I can't really remember. Haha. Think if anyone does that over there, he might risk flying into a wall or car if open throttle too big. Thanks to the genius i c a scholar whose best solution is to channel all the freaking vehicles into one lane.

Precisely. Bet they were all sitting around discussing how to slow cars down, decided to increase the number of speed bumps. Then some genius raises his hand "sir! Let's do it for bikes too!". Then the collective lot of ignoramuses nod their silly heads, which is all their heads are good for as far as we can tell.

Either that or they recall the days when their instructor was yelling at them in the driving centre and they were looking at bikes going slow on the bumpy course. Then figure that it must be because of the bumps that's why we're going so slow.

At least they didn't use the narrow plank to slow us down. Add spike strops to either side of a narrow plank to get past the checkpoint.

Y'know what? I partially did! Didn't feel like beating up my suspension, so stood my weight in my footpegs. Not fully half stand, but enough to unweighted my bum. Then followed the half clutch. At least no need to count the seconds to see if you were going too fast. Haha.

It's really dumb though. They're spaced so close, but not that narrow that bikes with longer wheelbases will encounter both wheels on the bumps at the same time. Or on diff faces of the hump. Can cause control problems.

It's going to take a couple of tipover incidents before they do anything I bet.

Tipover plus complaints and injuries to go along with it. Just like when there is a traffic accident or violation. No injuries no case. The white painted strip lines at bends might also be suggested the same way. To slow cars down. When it rains it becomes twice slippery for riders. Slow or fast the chance to slip and slide is higher.

That's why I don't go in through Woodlands on my class 2 anymore, I have to tiptoe on it much less balance on it on while going slow, couple with its hair trigger throttle, a nightmare. Super high bumps, multi bumps, I don't know wtf those bumps are for. Slow people down? If i wanted to get away, I'd use a Merc LOLOLOL. Smuggler choice of vehicle.

Got this video a few months back. A big bike force a small bike to the right.

IMHO, the kup being an idiot. slow yet dun wan to move over, creating a train of bikes potentially stuck behind him.

The whole point of ABS is to be used in panic situations. When a massive truck/ bus just cuts in and your instinct would be to grab a handful of brake, which would send you flying. On gravel or wet roads where there is little traction, not even god can help you. No traction means you can't brake effectively, period. Which is why you should always slow down on such surfaces and don't lean over too much.

zero situation awareness will lead to that scenario happening.

there will always be tell-tale signs of the cagers trying to pull a stunt while on the roads. be 110% alert and it can pretty much keep you rubber side down all the time.

and of course, not to be over-confident while on the road. wan to be garang, go track not the roads.

I only got 1 question when it comes to ABS.

Does those who said ABS is crap and pointless actually get to try one in a panic situation?

Ya, so and so in this motorcycle magazine said ABS is poorer compared to him riding and stopping in a controlled situation.

Last time I checked, no one featured a test of an average guy who was riding his bike and grabbed his brakes in a panic when the lorry swerved into his lane on a rainy evening. I bet that rider also forgot to check his stopping distance and timing.

It's a personal choice really if one does not buy in into these safety aids, but I suppose most of us will benefit from it.

yeah i hate ppl who block the lane. I have another video with a phantom that block infront of me for almost 10mins and there was 2 bikes behind me. the traffic was slow hard to change lane to overtake.

Some people seem to be in their own world when they ride or drive. Cut out and oblivious with the surrounding. When horned at they get offended. But they forgot that the road is for everyone to share.

saw this on youtube. seems quite a good camera. similar to gopro and cheap $150+

That is the SJ4000. It is available few days after I got the SJ1000.

It seems to have a much lower mount and profile which will not vibrate easily unlike the SJ1000 that comes with tall mounts. If only I had waited a few more days. :sian:

Managed to salvage some parts from the old keychain cam and swapped with the parts off a replica china keychain cam. Did some soldering and it seems to be working good now. Tested it out today. Forgive me but its not something interestingly exciting. Just something somewhat normal on a day to day basis.

Pardon for the mute video. Removed the mic while soldering the parts. I was actually was expecting that move. If you noticed I actually slowed down a bit. A bit only.

Guess my spidey sense alerted me of something. Acquired the spidey sense after my near fatal accident. :cheeky:

Jokes aside. The taxi sped up after I horned a couple of times and I was raising my hand to show my discontent? Could easily chase after him but I figured not worth the trouble plus the taxi made a right turn after a left and I am going straight. ;)

Thinking of selling off my under utilized SJ1000. Figured might as well sell it off to somebody who needs it. PM if interested. Back to using the keychain cam. Sorry no 'exciting' clips today. Just the way it should be.

To the aprilia rs125 p-plate rider entering JB via woodlands at about 1am march 28th, that was pretty close. Had the floor been wet, you would end up crashing into the JB bikers queuing up for clearance.

Ride safe dude.

Some weird guy took a photo of my bike while I was waiting for my Gf at the car park.

He was behaving suspiciously in front of my bike when I was standing beside it. Was annoyed by him so I moved to the front of my bike to block his attempt. He then move to the back of my bike and snapped a photo without offing the camera sound. Initially, he dropped someone off and was waiting for that person to be back.

Subsequently, he shifted his car and left after the woman came back.

He is a Malay in mid 30s. Driving a blue subaru. Starts with SJS.

Anyone has this kind of encounter?

I kena before while queuing at woodlands checkpoint entering Singapore about a year back. Saw in my mirrors the rider and his pillion behind me were talking to each other. Then the pillion got off the bike and snapped a picture of my bike. Saw the flash from his iPhone. I returned the favor by taking a picture of the bike he was riding pillion.

The rider was annoyed when I took a picture of his bike. I spoke to him in malay tell that to your pillion at least ask permission first. Suddenly while we were bickering I saw the biometric lane on the right clear up. I proceeded into the lane, they followed me in.

Those checkpoint regulars will know into Singapore the biometric lane is rider only unless it's the left lanes. They got stuck there so I just left. Still have their picture with the annoyed riders face. Haha

Why don't you ask him the purpose for taking photo? Maybe he admire your bike?
