haha skateboy, its like that one lah... big bike to small bike. Get used to it and then all is normal. Don't you feel its easier to do illegal u-turns and zipped around cars?

For me its one big difference esp going up slope on a filter turn near my place in JB. My X9 was struggling at 70-80 and gotta push the bike down. The Gmax? Going at 80 no feeling man!

hehehehehehe....

Levin, i really envy u leh. at least u feel that the bike is fast. 4 me, i'm like trying v.hard to ride G Max like super 4 :giddy: always got the underpower feeling when there's not much under power going on only when pillion some1.

B'cos I upgrade from motorise bicycle max at 25km/p to Gmax :cheeky:

Whats the usage of this clutch lining? Better pick up? Higher top speed?

I go through the manual , is there are two type of oil use on Gmax ? one is engine oil , the other is gear oil?

Another question ,will the engine gets overheated if we are stuck in a jam as its "forced air cool". How we know the temp when there is no temp gauge?

I think the over heat will be minimal.

our C5M series egine runs at a compression of 9.5. (x9evo is 12.5)

Our's is not only aircooled but oil cooled also.

as long u are not using mineral oil, it's not a problem.

Errrrrrr , whats is mineral oil ? Semi syn or fully syn is it ?

in squeezy traffic, it's better in terms of going in between cars cos it's light weighted. cos i travel on expressways most of the time therefore the power is way too low. normal road is really an ease of riding lor.

levin riding motorised bike lsat time? no wonder the speed is fast 4 gmax lah. hehehe.... :cheeky:

my personal opinion is this G max wun get overheated so easily cos it's only forced air cooling to the oil cooler then in return cool the engine. coolant wise, air will cool the coolant then coolant will cool the oil n engine. it's an indirect cooling system.

direct wun have much prob but of cos indirect is better but then prob oso alot more.

mostly big bikes have coolant system. like those RVF, CBR1000 kind of racing bikes, they got prob with overheating. in traffic jams, they fear their bike will overheat cos only when they travel fast then the cooling system will run.

so no worries on the bikes we r riding folks...  :bounce: :bouncefire:

hope you guys don't mind an aussie joining your forum. not much scoot activity down here.

from my knowledge, air cooled motors are less efficient compared to liquid cooled. this is because engines are most efficient at high temp - just below max operating temp. the optimal temp is maintained using thermostat and cooling fan on radiator.

oil cooled engines are built with less tolerance (to run well below max temp) as the temp can't be controlled. air cooled motors tend to overheat if being run at high speed rather than when stopped at traffic (opposite to liquid cooled).

Ithink that is subjective and from which direction you are looking at.

It's true that manufacturer turn from air and oil cooled to water cooled.

The famous one was the GSXR400.

BUT.

FJR 400 is still oil and air cooled. I do believe that's alright. Cos,

If there's no pros at all, nobody will bother to make aircooled bike anymore.

Look at piaggio ET8 and the LX150. They are still air and oil cooled.

As for the G-max. It's just 150cc, and tops at 120km/h at 8000+rpm.

Technically, it still can do well with air and oil cooled. It's not a performance hayabusa level.

The oil cooler found on our G-max. Is not small. It's technically a automotive usage size. Which I think is more than enough for a 150cc. Not to mention, the compression ratio is at a conservative 9.5:1. Which is low for 4 stroke.

Thease means lower heat generated. and of course, this will also allow us to use octane92 fuel. Our minimal requirements is 92.

And Finally. G-max is enough for singapore road. Even thou it can top out only 120km/h max. How many of us dare to maintain this speed for long in S'pore?

been looking to buy a gmax here in australia, but the distributor is still trying to have them rubber stamped.

has anyone confirmed the top speed being quoted in prev posts of 120km/h because the pgo website states 103 km/h top speed. i currently have a pgo arriba and i can confirm the speedo is way optimistic. i have checked against my GPS (sat nav) and found the speedo to be 10% out.

find it hard to believe a 150 air-cooled capable of such top speed. can appreciate the specs of the bike would lead to great handling and braking though.

pgo and sym are both sold under the bolwell brand here. you guys lucky with your prices on bikes. down here a sym joyride cost equivalent of $8500 sing OTR and was told gmax will be $7000 plus.

anyway, may end up buy the joyride if wait much longer.

The PGO ariba u mentioned is a T-rex 150.

WEll, I do agree with you that, the top speed may be way too optimistic.

But non of the production bike out there is 100% accurate to the dot.

The G-max will definately have a higher top speed then the T-rex.

Reason being the g-max is using a 13 inch wheel. With a 13 inch wheel, the final ratio will be different. when comparing a 12" and a 13"

The T-rex/ariba is using a 12"

Depend on individual. In OZ, having much higher top speed is fine. Cos u might be doing those interstate long distance travel.

In S'pore, legally we are not supposed to excceed 90km/h. We can go 120. But for how long? The last thing u want is having a snapshot of you doing 120 by a speed trap camera or having one of those traffic police on ur tail.

Well I've noticed that the Gmax250 uses liquid cool tech vs the Gmax150 oil cool. Displacement vs heat generated plays a part here.

The Gmax is a nice bike for city riding but for long haul rides... man... your ass will hate you unless if you do something to the seat angle. Mine still does.

Also the vibrations is pretty high compared to other makes.

Btw, is the rear shock adjustable?

The G-max 250 is using a kymco engine.

Kinda like the old X9 using a Honda engine.

PGO themselve don't have a 250 scooter power plant yet.

Interesting enough, if you look at under the tail. The mounting point for twin suspension is already there. They are just not used. Seems like they have done research on that even way before g-max is launch. 150 and 250 on standby.

Heat vs displacement. For auto scoot, I must say that I haven seen anything that is bigger than 150cc that is aircooled yet. There's more research on I guess.

Hmmm, Butt problem. U might want to lower the rear trye pressure by abit.

The stock is 3.0KG/? (?) Just lower it to the 2.8 region. The diff is there.

But u may have to give up a little bit on handling.

Vibrations? I might have the answer. (I might be wrong thou)

I was at HQ that morning paying installment. Guess u were supposed to collect in that afternoon. I saw ur bike.

Given that ur bike have a box installed, U need 2 more items to compensate.

Fork Brace and handle bar balancer.

I like the fork brace. It kinda enhance the handling further. Plus the weight. Will of set the rear box weight abit. balancer does help further. But mine is on trail with a light medium weight balancer. So I may shop around for nicer and better balancer.

Finally, could your vibration be due to the mineral oil breaking up?

I have my first oil change at 300km. Then 800km.

300km is the kiasu one. 800 is because the mineral oil Is breaking down already.

It feels rough and kinda cannot tahan traffic jams.

Give it some time to run in. I do believe it will improve.

rear shocks is not adjustable.

Fork brace is something that I'm considering but I wanna give this bike more time before adding other stuff.

Balancers are something that I definitely wanna look into. The original X9 silver balancers looks pretty in place on this bike. May install that. Did you cut away the rubber "balancers" or change the whole grip?

I guess you're right about the rough feeling. My mineral oil is hitting 700km already. Will have to change this weekend lah. Fastest run in ever for me. hahaha...

Just got this for RM150.

Yup, u will have to cut the rubber to put the balancer.

The original X-9 balancer? Well, For me I prefers something short and fat.

Cos if I add a longer balancer, I may have hard time squeezing thru during jams.

And also, there's no screw hole for the X-9 style balancer. U need to get those with

a big rubber washer and long bolt type. Check out at HQ when U go for ur oil change. Alvin will be glad to help you. I'm sure.

hehe, My first 300Km is in just 24 hours. Then 800km is in 1 week.

Actually, I was hoping to be the first G-max to reach 10K.

But an ah Pek have win me in doing that.

hmmmm, external bike computer. This should be fun.

Think u can be our pacer and let us find out what's our actual speed is.

hopefully our air n oil cooled engine is good n of cos durable. though water cool sound nice but it's added maintenance cost oso.

anyway, will wait till Gmax 250 to come in then we can take a look. cos would like a bigger cc bike 4 more power.

would do abit of modification n c how the bike perform b4 i install the forkbrace. so i do have edwinT as kaki liao.

after run in, the bike will b smoother n the bike dun need a higher RPM to drive a certain speed. but now after run in i still riding 80km/h - 90km/h at highways. still dun dare to ride too fast as i scared this will give stress to the engine therefore lifespan is shorten.:weep:
