No offense to Crumpler, but this forum is loaded with thread-stealers, lame jokes and unconstructive comments.

Maybe we need a campaign to stop it and educate fellow users so that it will not get worse.

how many times do we have to endure off-colour jokes and such?

For the thieves issue, just install alarm and cover it. That's about all we bikers can do.

Dun depend on the police, they can't do much.

It's not how exp ur bike or accessories is, thieves will always be thieves. That shd explain my missing tyre bipple caps, handle bar balancer...etc. Doesn't cost much, steal for what. But it is very troublesome and pissed off for the owner.

We are lucky in a sense that unlike other countries, we rarely have cases where the entire bike go missing forever.

Spend some cash and get the alarm.

HI ,

Agree with you, can't depend too much on Police.

I've my bike handle balancer stolen when just bought the bike.

Report to Police and the security at the shopping mall ( where the place I park my bike there and get stolen), know what the police say when I want to make the report?

Police officer said:" This thing how much? less than S$100? ,don't waste time make report, we can't help to find it back".

My point of making report is just to let them know there is thief at the area, and they just came out this stupid answer.

Same as you that even my tyre bipple cap also get stolen, thieve are always there, u don't know when your bike or accessories will get lost, just try all your best to secure it , dont think police can help.

police prefer to do more important stuffs like investigating about the white elephants at buangkok......

I'm a cantankerous lugubrious weirdo. Enraptured by stone walls. Demented by love. Disparaged by my own soul. Besieged by languor. Suffered from acute distress triggered by terminal boredom and elucidation of rhodonderons and deciduous seedlings. Searched for serenity amidst the chaos but failed miserably.

From my experience.

1. Wd40 on the ignition hole to prevent stupid glue pour into it.

2. Disc lock front and back.

3. A hidden cut-off engine switch which u place anywhere hide, motor cant start without this. he need to go through whole wire to find out why cant start. Can be done at LAB at les than 10 bucks.

4. chain full face helemt witht he front handle with those thick chain with lock, i use those numder guess lock. still safe.

5. install alarm. with bigger siren options.

6. this might sound non logic but works. install a red led lights at the ignition side , bright eough to say I AM ALARMSECURED.

7.Park at lighted area. pay some tipst to hotel/resort statff to take care ur precious and park with secured hard chain lock to a pole and go through forks and rims..

hope its still safe.

In my opinion, covering your bike is quite a good deterrent to bike theft. Thieves will draw attention if they wanna take away your bike cover when the bike is not theirs, and it's quite troublesome too.

Of course alarms and locks are the other protection available, but more often than not, we tend to ignore alarms... cos all the CAR alarms go off so often in MSCPs and we typical Singaporeans will choose to "bo chap" rather than check out what is happening... agree?

I think must get one that can wire mesh the whole bike, after alarm is activated, if there is still movement, then wire mesh will activate a "Zapping current" to stun the thief.

Then it will send an sms to the owner.

So that if the thief got angry and tries to damage the bike, at least the owner is on the way to the carpark.

My 2 chromed tyre caps got stolen today!!!

Called police, the seargent taking down the notes also said very unlikely to solve the case. And asked me if want to pursue the matter and make an official report. :(
