Go to motoworld and bang table. LTA should allow the same pipe on the same kind of bike, and they have done so before with the RXZ, where newer pipes have been allowed to be fitted on older bikes as there were simply no more production of old pipes for the identical engine. I think they will allow if you speak nicely and motoworld talks to them as well.

Anyway if you read thru all the possible replies, there is only one party that is causing this sort of problems and insist the are right and to change their tack line whenever it suits them.

LTA.

So who did TS voted for? LOL

I'd appreciate practical solution more than your whining and complaint which is barely consider a protest.

If I have to spend more for the government because of this, then I will agree with you but I wouldn't post it in public forum like you.

Back to topic, lets see what Motorworld/Lta will do. Me as a consumer really can't do much, I have been getting trouble by this exhaust lately running to inspection centres, back and forth Motorworld(I stay in the far west..) and sending emails, attending phone calls from both motorworld and LTA. By right I shouldn't even be doing this since this was bought off a legit merchandise shop.. -.- what bad luck.

Bro... this is a lesson learnt and just your "LUCK" coincidently. Singapore's law can be instantly changed at the government's disposal. Just look at the price of Motorcycle COE currently!! I have being changing numerous bikes and cars exhaust system and in my opinion, besides the "bling" factor for "Street Legal" exhaust there is ZERO or unnoticeable hp gain by just changing end-cans .. not worth to go through the hassle and headache. You want performance, the only way is to change a full-system which is usually illegal!!! I have being a Motoworld customer for long times. Once I bought a Marchesini Rim for my Busa, their mechanic install it wrongly and cause very little paint chips mark on the rim.. I instantly demand a new replacement "PEACEFULLY" and they fulfil it. What I' m trying to point out is.. Motoworld still cares for their customers.. but don't do it like a hooligan. That is my advise. ALL THE BEST TO YOU.

Update on the case,

Apparently the case have been settled. Motorworld just called me informing me that the exhaust pipes for CBR400RR have been officially approved. Would like to commend motorworld, Kenji especially for his efforts and efficiency to solve the complication finally and I understand that it is just my luck to be caught in this exceptional rare matter that could never been predicted to happen.

Would also like to clarify about an earlier statement which really matters to the public image of Motorworld regarding of them selling the pipe with unapproved certs.

This is not true to Motorworld best understanding of the situation as they have not received any form of warnings from LTA. The LTA Officer I spoke to who claimed so have seems to take back his words, rephrasing it as "Motorworld have been ignorant of their certs in actual is unapproved to some CBR400 instead of what I heard over the first phone call." I was really furious when I heard this and at the same time extremely guilty to have even mentioned if it was true to Motorworld, Kenji.

From my belief now, Motorworld would not have even think of risk doing so to land themselves into such complicated situation purposely by doing so that might affect their reputation, being one of the top motorbikes parts retail seller. In additional, Motorworld have put in their every effort to get the unexpected situations resolved, as quickly as they can which they succeeded eventually.

Thank you Motorworld for all the efforts, works and services provided to get out of such complications. If it was certain other shops, this issue could had remained unsolvable. Would certainly buy more stuff from Motorworld though if it comes to exhaust pipes, I will think thrice from now due to LTA questionable rules, which I would not define it 'strict' but 'odd'.. I hope that they can improve this somehow however still..

Thumbs up to MW and TS for settling the issue once and for all. I feel like an idiot having been misled by this unprofessional LTA officer.

Remember kids, LTA are not your friends, you might have friends working for LTA but when they are working, they are not your friends. Best they can do is inform you but overall, they are there to make your life difficult on the most part.
