I have a Caberg flip-up. My model is Caberg Rhyno.

I love this helmet. It's the most comfortable and useful helmet I had. And I have owned a wide variety of helmets from open faced, full faced, whatever faced.

One of the interesting thing I found about this helmet is that it is the quietest helmet I had owned.

Great helmet for daily riding in Singapore as well as for touring and sport touring speeds up north.

You can see it and my reviews of it at:

But for hypersport speed and track usage, I would still recommend traditional full-faced.

Caberg Rhyno under rain? Same as most FF.

just a side note.. its reveiwed as a half face instead of a full one... so guess the airoh helmet's base is just for the looks...

using the caberg rhyno as well.. you mean that's the quietest helmet you have ever used? i nv used a wide range of helmets, but i thought those more well known brand models like shoei would have better sound proofing.

To the contrary, I have to agree that Rhyno is no a quiet helmet at all comparing to the Nolan flip-up I owned before. You may reduce the sound volume by adding soft sponge on the left and right side of the ear placement area.

I owned a pair of Justissimo GT helmets for a few months before selling it.

Like:

1. Color

2. The convertible jet-kit which can convert your flip-face to open-face.

Dislike:

1. High-pitch wind noise. Noise comes from the side covers of the flip-mechanism. Tried insulating it with self-made rubber gaskets, but it is no use.

2. Bulky

3. Flip mechanism not as robust (as Nolan).

My recommendation?? Forget about Justissimo GT helmet (can't say about Rhyno though). Go for Nolan or Shoei Multitec (if you have $$$) or RJays (value-for-$$$)

i thought so too. but i nv tested both on the same bike before so cannot confirm.

Hi,

it's a good helmet in my opinion, i have been using one for about 2 years now and the visor saves all the fuss of having to stop and mess around with sunglasses all the time. it is also a higher safety standard than just the BS kitemark which means you can use it for track days if needed.

i think i would still prefer to bring a full face helmet for track sessions..

just bought a Caberg Downtown from ah boy~

my little review on Caberg flip-up (Rhyno)...

been using Rhyno for abt 3weeks, prior to that i was using nolan fullface for 2yrs.

the rhyno at 1.5kg is abt the same weight as a normal FF, maybe abit heavier but for a flip-up its considered very light.

the noise insulation of rhyno is better than FF... i can't hear my bike's engine sound. the noise comes when on the move... somewhere on the helmet is 'catching' wind. overall the noise level is slightly higher than FF but still acceptable, i don't need earplugs. i put on my in-ear earphones and i feel like im living in my own hi-fi world. i wasn't able to put on earphones when using FF.

construction of caberg helmet is solid, there are no creaking plastic sounds. flipping mechanisms are smooth. a piece of refined german engineering like bmw (the brand name caberg sounds german but then i realized its made in italy)

the chin-strap comes with 'quick-release' buckle instead of D-rings, initially i thought it would be more convenient as i can now buckle-up or unbuckle with gloved fingers... but the release mechanism is too small to fiddle with gloves on. i can only feel the 'click' with bare fingers (this 'click' feel is assurance to me). this chin-strap part is disappointing.

overall its a good helmet tat will stick wif me for sometime :thumb:

Thanks for the review. Most informative. I'm watching this helmet too...once my current N102 falls apart...which i've been using for 4yrs.

caberg rhyno is quite a value for money flip up helmet. the weight is very decent.. lighter than my old nolan flipup.. but its slightly more noisy.. i bought it from regina at 200+.. due to their rubber band pricing.. i have a friend who got it at $200.. so it all depends..

i have no complains about this helmet..

Few days ago, I reccee the price at regina, it was $280.

If anyone can get at $200, thats a steal!

Used less than a year and still using. Honest comments on the caberg rhino :-

Pros:

1. Quite light compared to other flip ups

2. Good wide vision

3. Scratch proof visor

4. Quite quite in terms of wind noise

5. Moderate air ventillation

6. Flexible fibreglass material especially on the side cheeks (easy to put on and take off)

7. Fully Removable cushion pads

8. Nice Pilot-liked design

9. Affordable price

Cons:

1. Buckle Chin-strapped a turn off.

2. No PSB approved.

3. Visor gets fog easily (however can open up the the lid a bit)

4. Water seeps in from the upper part of the visor during heavy rain although there are rubber insulation around the perimeter.

5. The latch mechanism to open up the flip up when newly bought requires additional strength to press. (oftenly require 2 hands to operate but once seasoned, 1 hand ok aldy)

6. Matt black to avoid as it tends to get scratched easily.

Overall

7 out of 10 stars for the affordable price and light weight. Worth buying.

FYI, carberg Rhyno/Trip have been replaced by Konda. Price range should be the same as Rhyno.

Tks for the info....but hve they brought it in yet? Rhyno will still be avail right since they need to clear stock first?

Great review...this is helpful as a local using it will be base on local weather conditions. On the water seepage....seeps in by the side only or all over.......??
