NRIC needed for registration

Hi,

The bike shop is holding on to my IC for registration purposes for a week liao. They claim that they is some problem with the piaggio side and hopefully i can collect my bike end of this week.

 

Is it normal? abit worried.

Has the bike shop given you a "To-Whom-It-May-Concern" letter stating that your NRIC is with them?

 

If yes, to me your situation now is still safe...

 

If not, better tell them to do so...

yes, i ask for that letter on the following day when i feel uncomfortable leaving the IC with them without any black n white lo..

But it seems that the bike shop is dragging it's feet to do the admin. work for you...

There could be many reasons like shortage of manpower, too many new deals... just to name a few...

Cannot be lehz, my cousin took it out in less the a week, unless they cannot get the COE bidding.....

coe is another reason loh...anyways, how to tell what's the real problem for the delay.

 

but one thing for sure is i/c is safe...if lost, use the paper to cliam them for the replacement fee loh.

I think his fear is not they losing his IC, but the magnitude of the consequences if the usage of the IC is being abused while in the hands of unscrupulous people such as borrow books from libraries, buying new phones, collateral for loans from ah long....etc. You can't help having such feelings especially when the shop seems to be front by people acting like gangsters.

totally agree. maybe they think they gangster can get more sales?
