Whenever I warm up my bike in the morning, there is a strange sound coming from the engine. After the engine is warm up till around 38degree, then the sound is not there. But when u pull the clutch, u could hear abit. After travelling for a distance, there is no more sound.

Is the sound normal? Is it due to the clutch plate? Pls advise...

Thanx in advance :cheer:

would like to discuss Riding Position on the CBR600RR.

i find the windblast crusing at 100kmh quite strong. of coz, double bubble windscreen is one solution, but i'd like to ask about riding position.

i tried to tuck myself into the 'air bubble' of the bike. i know this necessitates sliding my butt all the way back till its stopped by the 'step' of the pillion seat, then i have room to bend upper body low underneath the screen. i tried that today, and yes indeed there is 'silence' when i tucked myself in like that, and best of all, on constant throttle i actually feel a surge and my speed jumps by about 10kmh before being constant again the minute i tuck myself in.

the thing is, i feel like its such an unnatural position with my legs, coz with my butt all the way back my feet appears in front, like horse riding like that (ok, rearsets is a solution but lets not talk all these accessories first).

it wasn exactly uncomfortable, i'm just wondering whether i look weird and whether the 'tucked in' position i adopt is correct. now, this is my very first sportsbike ever, my first big bike; previously i on phantom. 'normal' riding position with balls close (but not touching) the tank and arms slightly bent at the elbows, i feel perfectly fine and comfy.

so i'd like to ask the more experienced frens here whether how i tuck in and wat i feel is supposed to be 'natural' after all, meaning my 'unnatural' feel is purely because i never do it before. btw, my avatar is a pic of me exactly in the tuck-in position i adopt, taken as an 'act like racer' ( :cheeky: ) pic soon after i first bought the bike. not say i look good, but from the pic i dun look weird, yet while i was in that position i felt weird. and looking at pics in bike mags, the european testers actually can tuck in such that the chin guard of their FF touches the CBR600RR's petrol filler cap. they're not small sized, judging from the pics as they ride the cbr.

so izzit jus i not used to it and doing it correctly after all?

thanx all.

how tall r u btw ?

did u grab e fuel tank?

i tuck in abt e same as u

Im using stock windshield.. no problem at 200km/h

when i tuck in, my stomach will touch e fuel tank, chest n chin slightly above e fuel tank

chin above e "lobang" on e fuel tank..

i think u r not used to it :cheeky:

From phantom to sportsbike is alot of different, just nit more time

(i used to ride TA also )

i'm about 1.68m.

and yes, i grip the tank with my knees and thighs. i find that gripping with a certain pressure in fact helps taking weight off my arms and lower back.

i tot it feels weird because by sliding my butt all the way back, my legs position from waist down really feels like 'phantom' style because my butt is far back from the pegs, yet everything else from waist up indicates clearly i'm on a sportsbike. 'normal' riding position my butt is almost directly above the pegs so feels more natural.

thanx for sharing, think i adopt this position more often than will feel natural.

so any of u spot a black/silver 05 CBR600RR cruisng down expressway tucked in but going 'only' at 100kmh, pls dun think i trying to 'act like rossi', i trying to hide from windblast :cheeky:

Is the windblast really obvious? No seriously, cos when I travel NS Highway I only lean slighty forward after speed is 180.

firstly, i'm wearing open-face (still saving up for a good FF), so for one thing its noisier and less aerodynamic for me than it would be for you if ur wearing FF.

besides that, yes i find the windblast pretty obvious. when i tuck in, i find a significant difference.

ure solution is a fullface, not by tucking in at 100kmph. pple usually tuck in arnd 200kmph.

place the ball of ure feet on the footpegs if u wan to feel the racer position :thumb:

errr..... pearl orange with tribal......? o_O

how come since the '03 CBR600RR, the designers at Honda keep coming up with such horrible paint schemes ah? the CBR brothers onli look nice in 2 types of color schemes: either solid single colour, or conventional honda wing like some of the '03 CBR600RR. i realli hated the fish gill wings of the '05 CBR600RR and '05 CBR1000RR, i tot the silver/red/blue scheme was too captain america, and i definitely think the wings of the latest '06 CBR1000RR look like lion's mane out of a cartoon.

which is a shame, coz in any one of the two colour schemes i like, both the CBR brothers look gorgeous in the flesh.
