hey bro.. so sad to hear this dude. well its a caution to all bikers to be careful while riding. lucky u r unhurt. Especially when its wet and I also feel the white paint inbetween lanes are really killer as they dont offer any grip.

hi guys, i just self skidded at a T-junction. road was damp and i was not travelling fast. bike skidded away from me and smashed into the curb, engine casing broke in a few places and 4T all over the the road. overall, quite happy that i had all my gear on and suffered only a small abrasion no bigger than my thumbnail . gunna lose a sh*tload of $ but most importantly, i don't lose anything else.

 

some policemen witnessed the whole qiu cheng blunder and asked me how i skidded in a low speed turn, i also no idea. bike just leaned deeper and deeper. tried to stand it upright but it just went down. if not for the curb, i would just need a new slider and fairings but unfortunately, the side that mounted the curb took a beating.

 

the whole incident was as stupid as walking into a lamp post while looking straight.

 

sounds the same every other day but here i am saying: pleeeeeeeeease ride carefully during or after a rain even when the road is reasonably dry. laugh at me all you want but hey, every dog has it's day take care and cya guys, oh and the bike washing session, haha screw that..

has not been a good day for u....well...things happen...most important thing is, u yrself is ok. thank god for that. and be extra careful in the near future. dun worry bout yr bike....slowly built yr bike back to its normal condition. jus need money....no money no honey...

hmm....let's see. i just got new racing reatsets from Doc Dol...which means i won't be slowed down by the grinding of my boots anymore...so a few milliseconds at turn 1...a few seconds at turn 5...more clearence at turn 6 which in turn means more speed...hmm...i estimate 1:35!!

ouch. dun worry dude, i had a small crash at mersing too last year. and from what i experienced, it is always impt to wear at least a jacket, jeans, gloves and riding shoes. that saved me from a lot of injuries and scars. slippers, shorts and a singlet should be saved for walking trips to the kopitiam.

 

and furthermore, i found that i was willing to trash the bike even more now that it was scarred, which led me to realise the bike's true potential. don't have to worry bout the bike looking spotlessly clean 24/7 anymore too.

 

This can be a reminder to everyone that risks should not be taken on the roads. whether its raining, slick or dry. i know too many ppl who ride like maniacs on the roads and think that they're rossi but the moment they hit the track for the first time, they're as slow as melandri (for those who dun follow motogp, forget melandri, think of a turtle) becoz they lack basic riding skills. when u fall on the roads, there are too many dangers ard, curbs, pedestrians, cars, trees etc. and falling by yourself is not dangerous, its running into those things that is. any fool can zip and swerve past cars at 140 km/h but it takes pure riding skills to lap a circuit quickly. so let's hone our skills at the track and not the roads!

thks guys, hopefully the repairs won't cost more than a 2nd hand bike or i will be buying a scooter liao btw, i highly recommend you folks to get comprehensive insurance for the bike. after all, it costs ~$20 grand and it's very good to cover yourself should anything happens. the engine casing and side fairing will definitely set me back at least $2 grand... you have no idea how much i wished i had comprehensive insurance yesterday lol too bad i chose 3rd party fire theft like most people..

 

 

btw, the motovation slider held up. the bracket didn't break, i am a gooood guinea pig to test their product for you guys without any protection, please buy them straight away, my leather gloves grazed the road and saved my precious fingers and skin, jacket reduced the abrasion on my arm to a small portion and my riding boots kept my toes wiggling (they are still wiggling)

Bike wise dun think too much we have to learn from lesson, nobody want things to end up like that. Anyway dont think too much and rest well and slowly sort things out after recover. Dun worry...i will be with u guys...getting to know u guys. Pasar Borong Pandan not dat far from LC, its a nite place, got a lot of food stalls...dvds...and shops selling clothes...like pasar malam.

i was quite lucky actually, all of the damage was only cosmetic. only bits of my front fairing panels were broken so that didnt cost very much. i managed to salvage most of them and for those that could be repaired, i sent them to be puty-ed(is tat how u spell it??).

 

i just sent the bike to boon siew and told them, do whatever it takes to get the bike running again. haha. they only had to order some small fairing bits and missing nuts and bolts on their part to get the bike running. plus an oil change and labour, i paid about 250 i think.

 

i still have some small scars on the bike that is a reminder of the fall but i figured since i ride the bike on the track most of the time anyway, i didnt bother to have them re-sprayed. and i highly doubt your repairs will come up to 6k... *fingers crossed*
