will the footrest act as a "protector" to prevent tailboard from scratches in case of fall?

does anyone here has the bike specs n information on this bike? keen to get this bike but would like to compare it wif R6.. any opinions?

i think the R6 is more powerful but the CBR handles and fuels (as in fuel injection, not consumption) better.

in fact i believe the CBR has the lowest power and torque.

i'll be honest: i chose the CBR coz i tot it looked the best among the 600cc supersports.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

sadly... from wat i read from a bike magazine.. the R6 was dissapointing... the Honda CBR600RR actually performs better than the R6

yeah i read something like that too. wat mag is yours? mine is Fast Bikes. their sentiment is current crop of supersports 'perfect' everywhere, just that some bikes perform brilliantly in some areas; like the zx-6r is most powerful, the gsx-r6 is most stable, and cbr is best handling. the r6's imperfections of handling and fuelling meant that it was rated very low, simply becoz the other bikes have no imperfections anywhere. they made it clear that it doesn at all mean the r6 is a crappy bike, just that when u compare with its peers then it must rate rather low.

actually depend on wat R6 u refering to

00-02 Carb, cartridge fork

03-04 EFI, cartridge fork

05 EFI, USD fork with radial mount brake calipers

so far e fuel consumption abt e same with RR (03 R6 and 04 RR)

17-18km/litres (tat not e best i've seen)

R6 ergo is better than RR

nv really ride e R6 on e track b4, road riding is comfortable with it

RR seat is HARD !! ( but im used to it )

some of e figures i got from magazine (i know its no use to show e figures but wat e hack hehe)

05 Yamaha R6

HP = 110.9 @ 13,000rpm

Torque = 45.1 @ 12,000rpm

04 Yamaha R6

HP = 105.8 @ 13,000rpm

Torque = 44.2 @ 12,250rpm

05 Honda CBR

HP = 108.4 @ 13,500rpm

Torque = 45.0 @ 10,750rpm

04 Honda CBR

HP = 106.8 @ 13,250rpm

Torque = 44.5 @ 11,250rpm

i've forgotten the name of the magazine.. i think its fastbikes too... i onli remembered that its the Aug 2004 issue... so shld be the 2004 models... they actually test ride the CBR600RR, CBR600F, GSXR600, ZXR600, Daytona Triumph 600 and R6... even the CBR600F has a better or similiar overall rating than the R6.. which makes me quite proud of my bike :cheeky: cos the CBR600F has the best timing for 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds.. :sweat: while others time above 4 seconds... but from 60-100mph.. its a diff story liao ... but the R6 is not very bad lah... the worst part of the R6 that they talk about is the OEM tyres...so actually we can jus change to a better tyre and the R6 will be a great bike? but still.. if by performance.. the R6 of cos better than the 600F la... the CBR600RR has the worst fuel consumption as stated in the mag... and the GSX was rated the best bike... if anyone interested to read the magazine... u can try dropping by at the library at Takashimaya..cos i work there... so happened to see the magazine... very easy to find the magazine.. cos there are abt onli 3 or 4 bike magazines over there... :smile:

from wat i read, newer issues of BIKE and T.W.O. claimed that cbr6 is the best 600cc bike among its class... in terms of handling, stability, and realibility.

but i bought it simply bcox i love the design a lot... :lovestruck:

differences in bhp or Nm doesn't mean much to me cox im not a pro racer anyway...

btw fyi:

the power n torque claimed by manufacturer r usually higher than actual ones...

since i did hard run in, my 05 cbr6 is measuring 98bhp @ 13900.

and according to the guy who did the dyno test for me, for stock bike, so far R6 is the best, ard 102bhp, cbr6 ard 98bhp, and gxr6 ard 96bhp (lowest).

kawa 636 im not too sure but definitely the highest.

and i had counterchecked these figures from BIKE mag, they agree with each other

actually the mag was referring to the r6's bad efi fuelling during transition from close to open. and that the pre-05 r6's 120/60 front tyre was a bad choice during lean; the change to 120/70 improved things but overall it was still the worst handling of the 4, altho by no means was it a poor handling bike.

ya... either they measure it at e crank (not rear wheel) or they just wanna show potential buyers how "powerful" their bike is
