Here's my $0.02... (Base on my Pal's Bike & my own)

The main tank is 18L ... And the milage per tank is base on how heavy your right hand is...

Q & A

*Milage to "Reserve Light Comes on"

My Pal's ~ 350km

Mine ~ 320km

Indicative Avg Milage (From the on board Display)

My Pal's ~ 18.4km / L

Mine ~ 16.4km / L

IMHO, the longest range Sport Tours is the STX1300 ... huge tank... and great milage per tank... But... ... Did'nt like the handling, thus having a GTR now...

To Me....

I ever rode 2 up from just abv KL R&R ( the A&W) stop till GP esso. I use the eco mode when nearing 2 bars and rode ard 100+km/hr.

Of course. Please dont try this. It was a calculated risk as the other petrol station along the way was close (yet to open) and i didnt want to pump at another.

My experieced with my ride as follows :

* Mileage 3000- 23000km } EO use - Semi Syn, FC average reading 17.7km/l, average mileage travelled about 305km then last bar blinks...

* Mileage about 23000km onwards } EO use as above, FC average began to bcum bad about 16.8km/l, average mileage travelled about 280km, last bar blink oreidi..

* Mileage at 25000km } decided to change EO to Mobil 1 Fully Syn - FC becums better and achieved average reading of 18km/l, average mileage travelled 315-320km then last bar blinks..

# The above figure based on daily sg ride with "Eco Mode" activated, at an average speed of 120km/hr, gear changed at 4000 rpm n occasional speed "burst" n at higher rpm gear changed ...

* Had tried to ride at 100km/hr bt afraid i wud fall asleep along e expressway lolzzz...

It greatly depends no the Rider... Rode a couple of tourers in my time... but the STX1300 simply doesnt suits my riding style...

STX1300

The original Shock/suspension system wears out fast... Up grading it to Hyper Pro makes hell of the difference in the Handling Dept.

HINT* ~ The handle bars are mounted on Rubber bushings. ... ...

Have coffee some time.. I would rather tell you than, than here.... with due respect to the STX1300 riders... ...:cheeky:

Bro good for you. Didn't have to resort to force. I guess it's not the bike, mostly it's the rider's ego.

Seriously why asking about FC when you ride this bike? If you are seriously thinking on trying to save fuel then I woould suggest you not consider the GTR. If you ask any of the guys here when they ride this bike how's the right wrist? I can personally tell you that the right wrist will not be able to control it. You will unknowingly increase it.

That's already on the low side. Considering the speed. Mine went into reserve before reaching Ayer Keroh R&R. That's like only 200km ++.

Then how abt gtr1400 shock/suspension? - As per any bikes you need to have proper setup in order to enjoy the suspension. For me I felt it was good enough until you reach the higher end of the rpm meter. Bike will start to weave.

Compare spare part which bike have a good budget? - Buying spares from the agent is pain in the arse. But the agent up north got no problem. Suggest you start to read 50 pages back on the problem.

Hope it clears your doubt.

Cheers

Doesn't matter if you are riding this bike. Always good to know first hand information from the owners.

Frankly what's the purpose of asking FC? Generally bikes of these capacity will have the FC of 16 - 18 km/l. Due to the bigger cc dont expect the bike to have the FC of the wave. Nowadays the tank of modern sports tourers had shrink because the manufacturer wants to cut down weight. The fuel capacity of the GTR will get you around 350 km safely based on legal speed. As I've mentioned the FC will go down when you hit the higher end of the rpm. With the exception of the STX due to the large fuel tank of course it can hit the distance.

If FC is your concern then get the STX not the GTR.

Cheers

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

Let's say it's at the upper end of the rpm meter.

Hee...hee.... My reply above was for Avg Speed of 100km/hr.

There was once... a pal & me... Head down to Malacca for Coffee...

Guess some "wire" went hay wire that night... Rode Hard... and Hammered all the way up! My fuel reserve came up at just 190km (Milage)!!!!

Talk about fuel consumption!!!

PLUS*** , My other pal was having a STX13 , his fuel consumption as just slightly better than mine... he tank reserve didn't light up mainly because of a much larger fuel capacity.

****************************************************************************************8

Here's my take.. all bikes can tour! Buy a bike to suit your budget, I had toured up north with a various engine capacity bikes... ... (from 125cc to 1500cc).

It's just... A sports Tourer makes it much Comfortable...

And the GTR makes it Twice as FUN!

To Me....
