How about removing the termostat to allow the coolent to circulate all the time to keep the engine cooler?

According to the shop i went to service, he said there are a number of super four riders who do this as they complain it is too hot. Besides, he said, the purpose of the termostat is to keep the engine warm to a certain temp before allowing the coolent to cirulate. That purpose is meant for countries with winter where keeping the engine warm is an issue. He left the decision up to me. So i removed the termostat but am keeping it incase i decide to put it back on.

Is he right and Is it ok to do that?

Anyway, the heat from the engine to my legs seems to be less hot now..

u mech may be correct but i dunno. i only know that everything is there for a reason. maybe if mi thermostat spoilt next time, i might remove rather than replace it.

if super4 is hot, then all class 2 bikes can be supernova liao..

anyway, if you adhere to the "school's teaching", you shouldnt be scalding your right calf.. because you shouldnt had our right leg on the ground.. it's supposed to be on the rear brake when bike is not in motion..

IMO, only can becareful about this.. else customise a carbon fibre piece to stick on it.. then you can rest your calf there if you like.. :)

As i said above..

I used to get scald my right calf too when i first got my ride.. but not now..

I guess you purely just cant adapt to your ride.. ride more often, get used to your ride..

else try scalding it more often and soon, you'll develop a thick layer of skin over the area and of cuz able to show us the stunt you mention..

Cheers..

At first, you 'assume' that i didn't adhere to things taught in school, put my leg down and kena scalded. Now, u 'guess' that i can't adapt to my ride. Any third 'guess' or 'assumption'??

Btw how u know that 'scalding it more often and soon, you'll develop a thick layer of skin over the area'? u used this method rite?? No wonder you no longer scald ur right calf liaoz. But sorry, i dun tink i will adopt your personally tried and tested method coz my brain is not that small.

Cheers too...

wah this topic POP up again ????

mod the pipe to run directly under your bike so your leg can't touch the heat ...

that solve the pipe ...

the engine part ????

remove the engine totally ????

or use a smaller width engine ????

anyway lots of idea in here ...

useful pointers ...
