It's depressing. :(

Is there actually anyone out there who still fails after the 3rd time?

If there are any of you guys who do, mind sharing tips on how to pass the next one?

(focus more on CR, the times you took revision before the next one etc.)

Thanks in advance. :)

Bro,

Don't despair, don't give up hope continue and put in more effort practice hands on will get the 2B license!

i gave up on 2a.... having a hard time to pass.....

Bro,

For 2A, there will be no road riding test, therefore TP tester look out for safely checks, lane change checks, safety rules. Practice more on each station, S course, Clank Course, Slope, Narrow plank, pylon slalom, E brake proceed to Bumpy course.

Practice makes perfect so don't give up.

When I had my 2B TP at bbdc, the week before my TP I did many 2 revision circuits and 1 road revision. Altogether I did 8 RC and 4 RR before my TP.

I made sure I did not wobble, ask instructors the exact points at checking blindspots before turns, asking instructors to ride behind me for few rounds etc.

Passed on first try.

Ask for second opinion to evaluate your riding before TP. Don't shy.

One of my rider friend said: TP is just like a circus show. Do the required movements correctly, at the right time.

TS, hope you have pass your TP test.

If you are still working towards it, you may want to try getting a biker friend to go and see how you ride in the circuit and how to improve.

Hope that helps.

Look forwards in getting your license and ride your bike on the road.

The instructor told be most people fail due to wobble and blind spot checking.. Wobble on lane change can be reduce by going nearer to the lane you intend to go 1st, check blind spot then slowly change over. Wobble during moving off can be reduce by checking back after the vehicle infront move off. Thats the tips.. Ultimately just need to keep calm and pass the test.

No offense to you but I don't understand by "Wobble during moving off can be reduce by checking back after the vehicle infront move off."

Check back is the safety check; to ensure no other vehicle is by your side before you move off. When I'm doing my 2B then, I checked back, looked ahead, moved off and still wobble. Maybe my skill is lousy then. I feel that wobbling is more of insufficient throttle and riding posture like not gripping your tank tight. I made the conscious effort to improve my posture and grip the tank and it works for me till now.

You may want to clarify this point with your instructor.

I agrees that in addition to the riding skill and safety checks, keeping calm and remains composed throughout the test is important to pass the test. Ride with confidence to show the testers that you are able to handle the bikes safety and likely you can pass. Ride with confidence and not to impress.

Well said. It is just like wayang. Do it one time and pass. On the road is other story.

Failing after 3rd time? I knew people who were failing after 3rd year. Don't compare, don't be discouraged.

What i meant is give yourself more space before moving off especially in a jam. Haha.. Wobble while moving off is caused if you follow the front vehicle too close in a slow speed.

Wobble? Just throttle MORE. DARE TO THROTTLE. When practice, THROTTLE. Give yourself more confidence. If fail TP, important thing is to FIGURE out your own mistakes and then DON'T repeat the same mistakes again. If you can't figure out, go for revision and ASK the instructors. They will show you how to correct the mistakes. WOBBLE, abrupt lane change usually all due to insufficient throttle. These 2 are killers for general riding. Imagine you can't figure this out, you keep repeating these mistakes throughout the circuit and course, how many points you think you get? Don't talk about obstacles...just general riding and you will fail. But correct these 2 simple mistakes, you drastically increase your chances of passing.

For TP, aim for PERFECT score each time. Due to nervousness and being human, you may still make some mistakes but will most likely pass. But if you depend on luck, hoping that you won't make mistake, you will fail.

I took my 2b almost 20 years back. That time fewer lessons, but I still took 5 attempts. Young buck. Took me some time to figure out what I did wrong.

But I think principles of riding are still the same.

Now I'm back to school taking my 2A after 20 years. All the memories came back...haha. Riding like a 2B newbie after 20 years of non-riding. So I'm in the same boat as everyone else.

Any questions, just ask here or ask your instructors. Most are willing to share.

Good luck!

Speaking of wobbling, there are 2 parts to the wobbling demerits:

1. wobble when moving off/stopping

2. wobble when turning/going bends/changing lanes

I would like to ask, to counter point 1, I just need to throttle? as much as possible? then stopping leh?

For point 2, so long as i grip my tank, i will surely not wobble?

How about when checking blind spots? I know we need to check blind spots before turning but sometimes, especially at the traffic light junction, your bike is already turned into some degree as you wait for traffic to clear (e.g. pockets/filter lane). So after you move off, you need to check blind spots before making a complete turn. While checking, wont people wobble a bit? Cuz a handful of time the instructors told me I wobble whenever I check blind spots lol

P.S. I dont feel I wobble, but always kena point out by instructors I wobble. Is it the same as everyone also? People see you wobble but you dont feel it? Hence, i always feel wronged when they say i wobble lol

You need to feel and release your clutch more. Low speed control is all about the clutch. Throttle is one aspect but if you dont transmit the extra gas to the wheels, you will still wobble

I am guessing you wobble when you check blind spot because you turn your hands and shoulder while checking. Just relax your shoulders and turn your head!

first point,

when stopping, eye line look up right straight and far, dont look at stop like

when moving also same thing, look far then go

when turning, also look at least 2-3seconds ahead.

when u look far, u wont wobble.

Point 1 - Yes, throttle more and release clutch gradually. As long as handlebars don't shake left/right, you won't get points. Look at where you want to go. Don't look too near.

Point 2 - Yes, you must always grip your tank. But you should be thinking about accelerating and heading DIAGONAL when you lane change. Don't shift your bike or turn your handlebars when changing lanes. Turn handlebars, immediately wobble. Go DIAGONAL in a STRAIGHT line, no need to turn handlebars, so no wobble. Hope you get the idea.

Wobbling can also count towards when you are stopping. They check whether before you stop your steering is stable. If they catch you turn ur steering more than once they will mark for wobbling! I had that happen to me... so if you know you tend to 'wobble' when stopping, make sure to keep still till just right before you stop and turn your handle 1 way and put your foot down.. at least thats what i did.

Of course, sometimes all you need is some throttling :)

Posted

but how to you stop with throttling? throttle means moving off, right? :?

and it is said: stop without looking down or aiming at the line. but like that how to make sure i dont stop too far from the line or worse, pass the line or get too close to the vehicle in front??
