1.3k for gearbox, cylinder, piston & hi-cam?

sounds pretty good.

how does big bore compare to long stroke?

im looking to mod/tune towards bigger low-mid range torque.

lolol, u never come, this thread seems dead.

that amount of money i rather contribute to buying a new crankshaft and do some engine work on my pgm. Haha.

Anyways i duno anything about 4 strokes! I dun even know what is a long stroke that u guys been talking about.

I think around december then i might be free to meet up with u guys.

lol of cos i would spend on the pgm too if i were u.

but i only got enough money to afford one bike to do both commuting and play.

yeah for sonic i only intend to change hi cam, pipe, cdi, carb (which i have but havent fix), knn filter, brake pump n hel lines.

Probably big bore too and if the power enuff maybe wider rims plus disc and brake caliper.

Hahaha quite long list.

Long stroke is the way to go for u, bro. Big bore are meant to generate power at high rpm. Typically, if stroke is longer than bore, its a torquay engine with power at lower rpm. (e.g. Harley, cruiser). If bore is bigger than stroke, its a more revvy engine with power produced at higher rpm. All racing bike uses big bore design to crank out high bhp at high rpm.

Dun squeeze too hard so that engine longevity/durability isn't affected. If you want more power, its much easier to change to a bigger cc bike.

The SBF anniversary is here finally. Do join us the competition to show support. I've been assured that the prizes they give are more than what you will pay for. Very high chance that u'll get one also. very interesting prizes also. So come down and show support ah. Pump full tank also now near 10 bucks already!

We're the largest community in SBF but when it comes to SBF events, the numbers don't show. So like someone said to me "Don't be a forumer just behind the screen, take part and support this community"

So yah, there's 100 slots and the cubs community makes up like 70% of the whole forum. No need everyone go la but at least 50 from us would be enough. I'm going definately :)

Sorry for the thread invasion :)

i have 250cc two stroker but it's kinda too fast for me for the road..

meanwhile sonic is also a great bike to ride with its lightweight and stability, only it's speed make it tiring for eunos-woodland trip.

so throwing money at it won't be a waste.

just hope the mech got it right about the estimated reliability.

Too fast for you on the road? I thot you control the speed. Just go easy on the throttle... I've a Suzuki Hayabusa but i cruise slowly most of the time. However, i still prefer to ride my Raider to work. I'm sure you know what i mean as our Sonic & Raider can squeeze thr traffic easily!

Yeah, agree that Sonic is a GREAT bike for commuting. Very tiny & economical. Don't get what you mean by its speed makes it tiring since it can go up to 140km/hr top speed. Its such a versatile bike!

two stroke sports are known for their puny low rev,

plus the riding position of the pgm and the super handling..

the comfortable cruising speed is 120km/h and above..hee

riding at highway speed + road hoggers + riding gear are both tiring and frustrating

cant imagine how u guys can keep ur sanity riding cl2 bikes..

traffic is around 1/4 of ur top speed.

i've seen people ride hayabusa like very light the handling in traffic tho.

as for my sonic, the top speed according to meter may reach 140km/h only on downhill..

but hitting 120 take sometime already.

and the meter also a bit off like by around 20km/h..

unlike the pgm which is unfortunately quite accurate speedo, as tested by TP radar and gps.. hehe

Yup, agree with you on the 2-stroke puny low rev part. I had test ridden a KRR before and stalled the engine at startoff! very pai seh... really gotta play with throttle a bit. Didn't get to cruise long enough and so didn't know how tiring it is to cruise with a 2-stroke. Tks for sharing.

haha... riding a class 2 bike is just like driving a Ferrari. Most of the time we just cruise along. But there are occasions that we blast that throttle in overtaking too. Bro, power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. With such a powerful bike like the Hayabusa, you can wheelie even when you open full throttle above 200km/hr! So, it pays to be humble and ride safely. But temptation is always there & no point paying for a Busa but riding it like a Wave all the time. Just know when & where to "play" with the power.

My Raider is more versatile & that's why i prefer to ride it over the Busa. It is fast, economical and allows me to slip thr traffic just like the Sonic. Most importantly, its so cute (just like the Sonic) that pple often stare at our bike. & being tiny, it teaches us to be humble when riding it. On a Busa, you feel very different as you are faster than 99% of the vehicles on the road. So there is a bit of pride & danger when others overtake you. And if you ride the Busa as slowly as you do with the Raider/Sonic, pple would Honk at you! haa...

So Raider is my favourite bike to commute to work...

Give it all your best & a little bit more...

Hahaha. Awesome. :p

Eh guys, post photographs of your cute bikes! Let's see them!

I seldom see other sonic riders or suzuki raiders for that matter, around. Only once in a while.
