Halo everyone. I am proud to be one of the X1 family. :thumb: Just gotten my ride a week ago. Hope to join you all for outings probably after my exam ard late august. I have a question to ask. I have been encountering back fire recently. Why did it happen? Will it cause any damage to the bike? Just wondering...

Backfire is quite common in X-1. lots of us here encounter backfire on our bikes too. not oly X-1, phantom TA200 also have this problem.

 

anyway recently i've discovered that less frequently use of choke might help to reduce the chance of backfire. I just serviced my carb recently, and din use the choke when i start my bike. theres no back fire till theres once i have to on choke (cos coldstart after heavy rain.) when i ride it on the road after that, the back fire thingy came back. from then on, i stop using the choke and the backfire has stopped too.

yeah i think so too... cos last time when i use to use my choke alot i get frequent backfire.. but now.. none at all...
