The hyper-aggressive motorcyclist who punched through a window of a car in a road rage incident last year has just been sentenced to three weeks imprisonment today.

According to The Straits Times, 33-year-old James George Palin is appealing against the sentence and is currently out on a $15, 000 bail. The former regional director of a recruitment company had been involved in an altercation while riding on his motorbike along Tanjong Katong Road with a Volkswagen car driven by 43-year-old Chiang Pak Chien.

Palin had hit the bumper of Chiang’s car while overtaking, and Chiang responded by overtaking the bike. The unhappy Palin then knocked on the windows of the car, which made Chiang stopped by the side of the rode while his girlfriend who was in the car with him called the police. Palin walked over to the car and somehow punched through the car window, causing injury to the couple from the shattered glass before fleeing.

The Briton could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $5,000. It is unknown if he can punch his way out of prison.

One punch and he broke the windows, that is pretty amazing. I am wondering did he turn green when he punch the window or the car window is of lousy quality.

Both at fault, except ang mo thinks he is some outlaw.

punching through a car window is nothing when wearing a carbon kunckle glove.

Bye bye chow ang mo

Actually, if ya'll look at the vid, that's idiotic positioning from the rider.

At the start, you can see the dotted pocket tracking off to the right. The rider is straddling the right-turn only lane and the go-straight lane. If you wanna split, split where you are able to continue travelling without impeding others. By setting himself between those 2 lanes, he was basically setting himself up to ride straight into the divider ahead if the car moves off at the same speed.

Can be seen that the driver accelerated hard and the rider pressed between the lane and the divider.

If he was splitting between 2 go-straight lanes, I doubt there would be so much drama. Car takes off fast and you're stuck beside him? No problem, go at the same speed, go faster and overtake, or go slow and drop behind.

By splitting between go-straight and right-turn only lanes, he was either going to have to accelerate hard across the junction and squeeze in before hitting the divider, push in to the car's lane and force him off or collide, or drop behind and into space behind the car.

Seems like he accelerated, but not fast enough and then twisted on a bit more to squeeze in in front of the car, clipping the car.

End of the day, that's dumb road behaviour from the rider which catalysed the incident. I am a rider as well and abhor riders who insist on placing themselves where they have to cut in to others' paths due to poor judgement. Personally, I've been almost taken out by riders in the above scenario. One guy even better, overtake into the right-turn pocket, then cut back in front with barely any room to spare.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.
