Hi all, I'm a new here and hope to hear suggestions.

I'm riding a X9 and COE due this month. COE $4K and I'm procrastinating whether to carry on or buy a new bike (taking up 2A licence now). However, I need a bike for work meantime but don't know whether worth it to renew my X9:?

Any opinions?

i have had 5 x9. 3 evo and 2 500cc. i would say they are very nice scoot to ride. most of the time, the scoot depend on the previous owners. if we are lucky, previous owners really take care of the x9, then i would extend the coe. 2 of my x9 i extended for 10 years. of course coe at that time was 1800 and 2400 mot 4k now.most x9 are either renewed or going to bye bye within the next few months.

you should assess yourself. is the engine good.? electronic good? belt just changed? meter ? so many factors to consider.

personally i dont see the coe dropping back to 1.8k in the next 2 years. so if you have like 2 k only, do you consider 5 years only. but bear in mind, if you renew 5 years, its going to be very hard to sell back because people will say all kind of things.

i dont think coe can be hoard. meaning you keep the coe for next few months and then put on a new bike. coe bought for that month will be attached to a bike in that month.but i dont doubt many bike shops (probably big companies) create the main reason for high coe prices. the other reason is also because of lesser number of coe as many bikes are not being scrapped after the end of their coes

I am hoping that it is. the bike prices now for used are too high. TS for me if the bike no problem I will renew and when everything settled then sell it away.

Coe can be kept for 3 months after bidding for new bike. Anyway if I were you just pay the $4k first. When COE drop you can scrap and get the pro-rated amount of the COE back. When COE rise you win lor.

i rmb the sudden sky high price of the COE was caused by the quota limit, gov lower the amount of cars, then coe for bikes rise as well.

then ppl start to say why rise the price of bike when they dont really jam out the traffic.

But do shops allow u buy new bike using own coe?

Renew first. Ride until cannot le, then break down and scrap. Some of the x9er need the parts. Anyway, Coe is cash now. So no worries de. This is provided that your engine is okie and electronics goos
