Hi Bros and Sis.

Due to some reason for the above topic, hor, i will just cut to the chase.

Is it an offence to ride without the transfer of ownership but already bought the insurance?

Both Seller and Buyer have understanding.

Meaning the bike officially under the Seller's name. But buyer buy his insurance for the bike already, Seller cut his Insurance for the bike already.

what are the penalties involved?

why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly..

if already guy insurance for yourself riding that particular bike, that means can ride...whether that bike is yours or not shouldn't matter...cos anything happen, you're covered liao..ride on! unless, if sh*t happen and the owner claim you stole the bike, that's another story.........

DO. Or DO NOT. There is no TRY.

but at the very least, the owner need to add you as sub rider.

No need. He has his insurance (before he canceled it), you have yours.

Seller cannot ride the bike unless he is a sub-rider on the buyer's insurance. Penalty? Back to school.

in singapore, better follow everything by books. it will save u from any unncessary anxiety if u can just wait till the transfer of ownership, then ride. it wont really hurt waiting a day or so, but it will hurt u deep if u get in trouble with the law

U will kena, because you cannot furbish the name of the person as the one riding the bike at time of offense (he has no license) If you do, be prepared for a long ass process of trying to explain why is he riding your bike. Technically you can sell your bike to someone without license, you can still do the transfer. So if i sell and never transfer, good luck explaining, they may or may not believe u unless u got signed black and white with witnesses.

Things done so far:

Brand new rear suspension, new rubbers in carbs, serviced carbs, double bubble windscreen, voltmeter, Pilot Sport tyres, Did o ring + VAZ sprokets, front brake pump, gaskets + waterpump oil seal, Maxima CoolAid, 2nd hand rear hugger, 2nd hand front brake disc, Fizz Power brake pads front and back, 2nd hand front and back rims, Yusa battery, Reconditioned 2nd hand carbs by Planet, Front sticker number plate, front wheel bearings, new clutch plates, fortuna paintwork sponsored by spastic driver, Keitin tank pad.

Need sugar mommy for : Hel brake lines and top end overhaul.

you can ride the bike when you got the insurance. but transfer have to be done within 14days. if not it's an offence.

UNLESS you have a written agreement stating that the bike(under your name) is loaned to a 3rd party(new buyer or friend).

i have a friend who got a busa, but only got 2b licence. he let his friend ride the busa for now, but the bike is under his name.

TP usually will just check for insurance, unless a report is made.

he special case.. 2,3,4,5 all have, but revoked.. so back to square 1..

according to one.motoring.com:

Within 7 days of a sale or change in possession of the vehicle, the current registered owner or the person/company taking possession of the vehicle must effect a transfer of vehicle. It is an offence not to do so.
