my friend was quoted a krr by a sales staff name ah lee

attitude not bad, quite chatty, i forgot the price but i did remeber its ok

my friend onli worries now whether they have any "hidden" costs

was told by lee that his price is inclusive of all fees except insurance n transfer

i did asked him abt agreement fees , he did hesitate for awhile b4 answering but could be psychological on my part..

anyway, hope to hear from u guys

got my ta200 from there. my first bike. agreed on a px for bike. supposed to collect it in 2wks, according to ah lee. waited up to 7wks. and had to pay for IU bracket upon collection, not much, $30 ONLY. had three free servicing, but like normal practice, needed to pay for oil and stuff. ok w me, but dun think its logical to pay $18 for denso plug, which i realised super speed selling for $5. front mudguard got cracked after incident w bus in NUS, so called ah lee to ask price of front mudguard. qouted me $70. since i only know this shop, i went down, all prepared to pay $70. when i reached there, he wasnt around. so jus grabbed any mechanic. ended up paying $35.

jus my personal experiences when i first got my license. maybe too gullible then. but one good thing bout the place. ah lee can really talk. if free can go down listen to him trying to make sales. not bad entertainment. :D

btw, receipts still with me. can take a look if anyone wants to verify... ;)

just a few simple rule to follow:

dun sign or pay anything first.....a lot of shops like to tempt buyers into paying deposits and sign agreements....they sweet tok u into believing everything can be done all these...ended up u got to fork out extra for a lot of things...

look ard before u make ur decision....best buy from a more reputated shop... pay a little extra but got all their promises is better than forking out extra after they give u their empty promises...

Learn quite a few lessons after all these years of buying and selling bikes...

As from my point of view, can buy bikes from southern, but cant go there to service.... The mechanics over there is damn rough with bikes, they might provide scratches on your bikes when they seems busy....

The price over there is still not too bad coz most of maybe all of their bikes are recorned(maybe wrong spelling), not agents bikes....

No difference between southern motortiam and the new southern, open by the same boss just that 1 is showroom and 1 is work shop...

there are many bike shops next to each other at Bukit Merah Lane. No harm asking around before committing yourself. The most just make a few trips. may save you a lot of money.

.....which is NEVER a smart move! to save 2-300 bucks here, in the end u spend more on servicing when u bring to other shops?? Its dumb!

Go the place that will take care of your bike and buy the bike from them...this you develope a rapport with both the boss and the aftersales! And you will be then their so called preferred customer, you will enjoy many "perks" in terms of service and special treament which pays you back gradually!...so what is the big deal of the 2-300 bucks you pay more initailly??

What I have just said makes sense...........just a difference in foresight!

1) Those bike over there doesnt save you 2-300bucks, it might save you up to 2-3k over there....

2) You no need to buy a bike from a particular shop to so called make friends with the boss in order to receive any special treatments.....

Buy a bike from him just to make friends?? That is dumb....

3) Not all shops will treat you as a friend if you buy from them also.... I personally gana chop from a particular shop a few times even when i bought my previous bike from him....

1) If bikes prices are different by 2-3k from the rest of the shops... something must be fishy! so did you buy your Gixxer 2-3k cheaper in southern and bring to UNITY to service? I hope not.... :D

2) I didnt not mention make frens...."preferred customers" i said. thats a big deal of difference in that. ;)

3) yes you got conned from your previous deals...thats just because you went to the wrong shop to start with :nono: . We all made that mistake when we are young or new. Now i am smarter to go to the right shop...be it the price i pay is a little more. Thats what i am trying to say.

1)Ya, the prices is 2-3k difference, i bought mine from unity and now servicing in unity also, coz unity give me a higher trade in value of my old bike which make it about a slight difference in prices between the 2 shops... Somemore its agent and recon difference(from what i heard from the 2 bosses)... ;)

2) As for your 'preferred customers', maybe i didnt get your meaning correct, but i still think they still wont give you any benefits even you buy from them..

3) Ya, i get conned from my previous shops, now i learn to be conservertive.. Motortiam open to earn money, money is still the point... Of course, if the shop serve well, i dont mind going back there again even its a bit more expensive... :D
